Sean Strickland had a lot on his mind following UFC Vegas 90.

In the main event, the former UFC Middleweight Champion saw his longtime teammate Chris Curtis fight former foe of both men, Brendan Allen. The top contenders went to war over five rounds with Allen slipping by with a split decision win.

Not everybody had ‘All In’ on their scorecards, including Strickland. Nevertheless, Strickland liked what he saw from Curtis, who stepped on a few weeks’ notice to take on the #6 fighter in the world… although, he initially advised the ‘off the couch’ Curtis against going for the gamble.

Sean Strickland Dishes Out His Opinion on UFC Vegas 90 Main Event

“UFC “Curt we need you on a week notice” ME “Curt you haven’t really been training because you wanted to take time off for you new baby, just say no” Curt goes and out strikes a guy coming off the couch with a week of training lmao!” Strickland wrote on ‘X‘.

Strickland says Allen, who had a full training camp (just not specifically for Curtis), shouldn’t be happy with the performance he turned in on fight night.

“UFC filmed Curt, I did one round of sparring with him and let him win. The camera crew was confused because they know me I said “if I spar him remotely hard he will lose all confidence going into this fight he’s so out of shape. No excuses but [Allen] take zero pride in this victory.

“[Curtis] was so out of shape and under prepared for this fight.. and still won,” Strickland added. “You don’t say no to the UFC lol every UFC fighter knows that.. They say jump you say how high lmao Shoulda finished high school lmao!”

Curtis and Allen left the Octagon at 1-1 in their series with ‘The Action Man’ winning by TKO in their first encounter in 2021. With Allen getting his hand raised the second time around, Strickland believes a trilogy should be in store for the evenly-matched middleweights and it should have a full training camp unlike their first two fights.

“Alright I’m done b******* lol we’re all grown ass men and we all make our own decisions.. Just run it back on a full camp, curt deserves that,” Strickland concluded. “Goodnight yall!”

Despite the former champ chiming in, Allen wants to move on to bigger and better things following his seventh straight win. Following the fight, the submission specialist called for a title shot against Dricus Du Plessis and said he’d even settle for another rematch with Strickland if that is not the case.
Sean Strickland gave Brendan Allen his first UFC loss in 2020, finishing him with punches in the second round. Only time will tell if Allen will be given the chance to avenge the past defeat, just like he did against Chris Curtis this weekend.
