CES 56 is a little more than a month away and the CES organization continues to add exciting matchups to the card. Earlier this month, the promotion announced a featherweight title fight between current champion, Bruce Boyington and challenger Dan Dubuque. Today, CES added John Gotti III to the event.
Recently, a few local stars of the promotion were booked to the upcoming season of Dana Whites Tuesday Night Contender Series. William Knight and Fabio Cherant, are expected to make Zuffa debuts in the summer. With a hole in the roster, CES brought back Gotti assuring the upcoming CES 56 is just as jam-packed as the organizations’ previous event (CES 55).
Additions to CES 56
Competing alongside the New York fighter, Gotti III, is a name well known among many mixed martial arts communities. Set for CES 56 is Connecticut’s, Nick Newell. Newell last competed under the Zuffa banner when he took on Alex Munhoz for Dana Whites Tuesday Night Contender Series. Unfortunately for New England native, he fell by way of unanimous decision. The loss was only the second of his professional career. Newell faces Kalvin Hackney at the upcoming event.
John Gotti III returns to the CES cage to face DeVon Mosley. The undefeated Gotti III is yet to leave the opening round as a professional. His first three bouts accumulated less than a full round of action (4:50).
His opponent Mosley breaks a 5-year layoff when he makes the walk at CES 56. The Virginia fighters last competition came in June of 2014 for Glory Fights: Strike Off, a now-defunct promotion. There Mosley fell to Elder Ramos by way of 1st round TKO. Overall as a professional, Mosley holds a 3-2 record. Two of his three victories came by way of submission.
