UFC 263 Results

Two titles will be on the line this Saturday in the UFC‘s middleweight and flyweight divisions as MMASucka provides UFC 263 results throughout the night. In the night’s main event, the middleweight championship will be on the line in a rematch between Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori.

These two first met in just Adensanya’s second UFC fight as they fought at UFC on FOX 29 in 2018. In a close fight that Vettori believes he won, Adesanya came out on top with a split decision victory. Five fights later, Adesanya knocked out Robert Whittaker to become the UFC’s middleweight champion. He has defended the belt twice with wins over Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa. After a failed attempt at the light heavyweight title, Adesanya’s back at 185 pounds to face Vettori.

Since suffering that loss to Adesanya, Vettori has not lost a fight, winning his last five straight. Following the loss, he won back to back unanimous decisions over Cezar Ferreira and Andrew Sanchez. His third straight win was the only finish over that time as he submitted Karl Roberson at UFC Vegas 2. In his last two outings, Vettori has picked up his most notable wins with unanimous decision wins over Jack Hermansson and Kevin Holland. Now he finally gets his second chance against Adesanya as he looks to capitalize this time around to win the middleweight title.

In the co-main event, the flyweight title is on the line in yet another rematch. In their first fight that happened just last December, Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno fought a war against each other, leading to a majority draw decision.

Now, six months later, they get their chance once again to battle it out and determine a winner. Leading up to their first fight, Figueiredo had won five straight fights. In his fourth win was when he captured the vacant flyweight title. Since then, he has made one successful title defense against Alex Perez at UFC 255. Figueiredo enters the fight hoping to end things early this time around, leaving nothing to the judges.

As for Moreno, prior to their first meeting, he was riding a three fight win streak. That win streak started off with back to back unanimous decision wins over Kai Kara-France and Jussier Formiga. In the fight that earned him the title shot, Moreno finished Brandon Royval by TKO at UFC 255. Moreno hopes to put on a better performance this time around that will see him leave with the flyweight strap.

Also, before the co-main event will be a third five round fight, however this one has no title attached to it. Stepping into the octagon again for the first time since his 2019 loss to Jorge MasvidalNate Diaz is back. He will be facing off against the third ranked welterweight contender Leon Edwards who has been inching so closely to a title shot, however bout cancellations have caused problems.

Edwards’ last fight ended in a no contest after an accidental eye poke, but he has not lost a fight since 2015 when he lost to Kamaru Usman. Since then, has won eight straight fights with notable wins over Vicente LuqueDonald Cerrone and Rafael dos Anjos. As for Diaz, he is coming off the previously mentioned loss to Masvidal. His last win came a couple months before that when he defeated Anthony Pettis by unanimous decision.

Kicking off the main card will be a light heavyweight match up between Paul Craig and Jamahal Hill. Craig enters the fight on a two fight win streak with recent finishes over Gadzhimurad Antigulov and Mauricio Rua. His opponent, Hill, enters the fight win an undefeated record of 8-0 with one no contest. In his last outing, he finished former interim title challenger Ovince Saint Preux by second round TKO.

Finally, before the five rounders start, following the light heavyweight fight will be a welterweight bout between former title challenger Demian Maia and Belal Muhammad. Maia is entering the fight with a 3-1 record in his last four fights. He had put together a good three fight win streak before it was snapped in his last outing with a TKO loss to Gilbert Burns. As for Muhammad, he was on the receiving end of an accidental eye poke in his last fight that resulted in a no contest against Leon Edwards.
