On Saturday night live from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida the world got to witness the conclusion of the anticipated boxing rematch in Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley II. The two had fought several months ago with Jake Paul, the Youtube celebrity, getting his hand raised via decision. This time, the former UFC champion, “The Chosen One” Tyron Woodley looking to defeat the Paul brother and “Leave No Doubt.” After his loss Woodley went to Instagram and shared his thoughts.

Originally, this fight was set to be Jake Paul against Tommy Fury. Fury is best knows for being a contestant on the reality show Love Island and for being the brother of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury. Tommy Fury is undefeated in seven bouts and has more boxing experience than Woodley has with merely one loss in professional boxing. Fury was forced to withdraw from his Paul fight due to illness and a rib injury. Woodley was able to step in as a replacement on short notice for this fight.
Unlike the first fight, the Paul vs Woodley 2 match ended much more decisively. Jake Paul with a big overhand right is able to cleanly knock out Woodley in the sixth round of their match. This knockout victory for Paul has ensured that he remains undefeated in professional boxing. Paul had previously, and famously, defeated Nate Robinson, an NBA player, and Ben Askren, a former UFC fighter and collegiate wrestling champion.

“Caught slipping,” the former UFC welterweight champion took to Instagram the day after his loss to share his thoughts, “Only takes one shot. One Mistake. Beautifully timed. Had he dropped his hand I would be celebrating. No hate. Love. I was ready. I was in shape, and blessed to trust God and believe. Heart broken, but not broken.” Woodley, on Instagram, even shared a video of the highlight reel knockout from Jake Paul. Link and video below.

Woodley, in this post, had many supporters. “Well said and keep your head up Champ,” Former UFC fighter Mike Swick told him, “You already done it all and your in there with guys almost half your age! #Respect.”And Bellator fighter Paul Daley adds, “It was a horrible shot. As long as your healthy brother. Good health. That’s No1. Recover well champ.” Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson said, “Yo you got in the ring and did something out of your element, nothing but respect fambo.. that being said I wanted you to shut him up so fucken bad!!!”
Tyron Woodley is not a boxer initially. He was a stand-out collegiate NCAA wrestler competing in Division I. He later switched to mixed martial arts and competed in Strikeforce and eventually the UFC. He went on to become a UFC welterweight champion and defended this title in three bouts, plus one retention due to a draw. Woodley was on a four-fight skid when he left MMA and switched to boxing. He is now 0-2 in boxing.
