PFL 6 2022 Results

The 2022 PFL regular season wraps up tonight with the welterweights and women’s lightweights taking center stage as PFL 6 2022 goes down live from the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia once again.

Below are the current standings for the heavyweight and featherweight divisions after the action at PFL 3 2022 (images courtesy of the PFL).

With the only finish in the first half, former UFC title challenger and Bellator champion Rory MacDonald is in a good position to move on with a win. He will face the Swede Sadibou Sy, who picked up a decision win over Nikolai Aleksakhin to earn three points. Aleksakhin, meanwhile, was unable to weigh in yesterday, so his opponent, former LFA champion Carlos Leal, earns three walkover points to bring his final total to six after defeating reigning champion Ray Cooper III, putting him in a good position to make the playoffs. Cooper will have some ground to make up to return to the playoffs after the loss and missing weight, but a big win over an ACA vet with the same last name in Brett Cooper could give him an outside shot of a return.

Like Leal, former Titan FC champion Dilano Taylor has a good chance at making the playoffs, despite being considered a season alternate, with a win over former champion Magomed Magomedkerimov, who will likely need an early finish after missing the first half of the season. Similarly, the undefeated Magomed Umalatov is in a similar situation after going 2-0 in showcase bouts last season. He will likely need to face PFL Challenger Series contract winner and former Brave CF champion Jarrah Al-Silawi to move on, while Al-Silawi has an inside track to the playoffs with a win.

Prohibitive season favorite Kayla Harrison fights in the main event tonight having already earned three points in her last outing over Marina Mokhnatkina. Harrison will face longtime Invicta FC vet Kaitlin Young tonight, as “The Striking Viking” Young makes her season debut as a replacement after former Bellator featherweight champion Julia Budd was forced out of the fight due to injury.

UFC veteran and former finalist Larissa Pacheco is currently in the lead after picking up a first-round finish over Zamzagul Fayzallanova. Despite already having lost twice to Harrison, the Brazilian is confident that she can beat the former Olympic gold medalist in judo, but must get past the City Kickboxing product Genah Fabian to ensure her chance at potentially getting a shot at the rematch this season. Fabian is in a similar situation to Ray Cooper III, having missed weight in the first half. Although she beat Budd in the fight, she could not earn points and will need an early finish of Pacheco to be in playoff contention.

Olena Kolesnyk and PFL Challenger Series contract winner Martina Jindrova each earned decision wins and three points last time, making them the current front-runners for the other two playoff spots. Kolesnyk will face UFC veteran Vanessa Melo, while Jindrova will face the aforementioned Fayzallanova. An impressive showing from either Abigail Montes or Bellator veteran Marina Mokhnatkina could also vault those two fighters into contention.
