Battle of New Orleans MMA recently held an event on August 10, 2018, from the Mel Ott Center in Gretna, LA. BNO #29 had a great turn out. This was the organization’s seventh event in just over a year. The event was a very well put in show with extremely entertaining mixed martial arts action. Due to the organization’s rise in popularity in south Louisiana, Battle of New Orleans is rebranding to Bayou Fighting Championship. The organization will branch out from the New Orleans area and cover more of the state.
The Change
Fight Sports Entertainment will remain the promotional company for all events. The new name for the organization will be Bayou Fighting Championship (BFC.) This is similar to how Zuffa LLC is the promotional company while UFC is the organization. The actual event name will be location specific. Events in the New Orleans area will be Battle of New Orleans so it will read as BFC-Battle of New Orleans. Events in Lafayette will be BFC-Fightville. New to come will be BFC-Rumble on the River for Baton Rouge.
Future Events
Lafayette, LA will be the host to the next Bayou Fighting Championship with “Fightville 2.” Fightville 2 will take place Friday, August 24, 2018, from the Heymann Performing Arts Center. The doors open at 7 pm with bell-time set for 8 pm.
