APFC 7: Indiana Fight Night II Preview

Anthony Pettis Fighting Championship makes its way back to the Hoosier State in what is slated to be the biggest night of fights for the youthful promotion. APFC 7 will be capped off by a middleweight showdown that will determine the promotion’s first ever 185-lb. champion.

Middleweight Title Fight Dialed in for Main Event

Topping out the main card will be a matchup that will determine the inaugural APFC Middleweight Champion. Chris Crosby (12-4) has kept an incredibly busy schedule over the past fifteen months, as the 37-year-old has cranked out seven fights and seven victories since June 2022. The Soul Fighters athlete is a ferocious animal on the mat, scoring 11 of his 12 professional victories by way of tap.

Kevin Nowaczyk (20-4) made an emphatic return to MMA this year at LFA 153 after being sidelined from competition for nearly five years. The 34-year-old Valle Flow Striking fighter is a seasoned veteran with in-cage experience with veterans of UFC, Bellator, and WSOF. In an exclusive pre-fight interview, “Gimme Your Lunch Money” told MMASucka, “I’m definitely going in for the kill, I’m not—I’m gonna look to give the judges a night off. . .”

This title fight should prove to produce a finish.

The Co-Main Event

The co-main event will highlight two high level featherweight combatants eyeing a shot at title contention. Motaz Askar (4-1) is one of the Midwest’s sharpest 145ers. Debuting professionally in 2019, the 25-year-old’s only career blemish came in the form of a decision loss at LFA 138. Looking to stack two in a row, the Palestinian fighter must top James Pfeiffer (5-1).

Pfeiffer is an incredibly tall featherweight, scaling out to 5’10”. “The Merc” shares his gym home with APFC Lightweight Champion, Josh “Rockin” Rohler. With a uncanny ability to find favor with the judges, the 35-year-old is on a five fight win streak with all of those victories coming by way of the scorecards.

The Rest of the Main Card

Justin “Juice” Lovrich looks to get his first victory inside of the APFC cage against Venezuela’s Gregor Cisneros (5-6) who looks to do the same in a catchweight showdown. Undefeated prospect Brandon Moran (2-0) will battle it out with Premier MMA’s Emmanuel Pugh (0-3). At featherweight, Mohammed Maali (0-0) and Chris Sanchez (0-0) say goodbye to the amateur circuit in their respective moves to professional competition.

Asher Frederick (2-0) meets Jose Salgado (1-1) in a flyweight contest. Cade Herod (1-0) will look to thwart Rufusport’s Jeremy Strobel Jr. (0-0) in his professional debut and rounding out the main card, fight fans will witness Adrian Cardenas (0-0) make his professional debut against Carl Jefferson (0-4).

APFC 7 will showcase a host of top level amateur MMA competition featuring the likes of Matt Ryan (4-3) and Victor Aguirre (3-0).

All of this action is set to take place Sunday, September 3rd, and will air on UFC Fight Pass.
