UFC President Dana White and YouTube celebrity, and boxer, Jake Paul continue their feud. The two trade volleys against one another on social media. Paul has advocated for fighters to get better treatments and White asks Paul to get drug tested and denies cocaine accusations. And some UFC fighters also join in the argument including Jorge Masvidal and Tim Sylvia. Plus, we get word from the Mixed Martial Arts Fighters Association (MMAFA) who are currently in a class-action lawsuit against the UFC.
Jake Paul and Dana White Feud
“I got a challenge for Jake Paul,” White said in an interview with Teddy Atlas, “This guy keeps saying that I’m a coke head. He can randomly cocaine test me for the next 10 years if I can randomly steroid test him for the next two.” These words came shortly after Paul had knocked out multi-time UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in a boxing match.
On Twitter, Jake Paul gave Dana White and ultimatum. Paul said he would retire from boxing, enter the UFC, and USADA testing pool, and fight Masvidal if the UFC will guarantee UFC fighters 50 percent of the UFC’s annual revenues, increase fighter pay to $50K per fight; minimum is currently $12K, and provide long-term health care to fighters. “Waiting for my USADA drug test. I’m ready Dana. DM for address,” Paul adds, “4 days left on my offer Dana… waiting on you to accept and send USADA over.”
“You publicly stated that I use cocaine. I do not,” Dana White said, “So I told you, you could randomly cocaine test me for the next 10 years.” In response to Paul, UFC President White did not directly discuss Paul’s offer but instead gave insults back calling him stupid and a scumbag, “I believe that you’re a cheater, and I believe that you use steroids, so I want to randomly steroid-test you for the next two years. And that thing you came out with today? Nobody on earth thinks that you really wrote that, you’re too stupid…scumbag.”
Jake Paul added, “You have been caught with cocaine and hookers every other week. Long story short: you addressed nothing that I said. I accepted your challenge, I said I would fight MMA, I said I would retire from boxing. And you avoided all of that s**t. You’re a dog in a corner trying to fight to save his whole company…The bottom line, Dana, is that you won’t add health care for your fighters because you don’t give a f**k about them and you’re too much of a greedy b***h to pay your minimum fighter more than $12,000 for risking their lives. It’s what a janitor makes. You need to pay them $50,000, Dana. Stop avoiding my points.”
“You’re calling out Jorge Masvidal because he’s a pay-per-view superstar,” White said. And Masvidal responded saying, “Thank you to my employer for recognizing my hard work. Only took you 4 years #supernecessary“
“Wow, this guy just wow me over. Congrats Jake Paul,” Former UFC heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia said, “Sincerely former 5x UFC HW champion and the guy that had to pay for another arm surgery cause the UFC didn’t think it was their problem after it happened on their watch.”
Currently in a class-action lawsuit against the UFC with fighters such as Nathan Quarry, Cung Le, and Jon Fitch, the Mixed Martial Arts Fighters Association (MMAFA) also joined their voices to this fight. “We applaud Jake Paul for his sentiments,” The MMAFA said on Twitter, “And encourage him to take concrete actions such as supporting the #AliAct2MMA and the #UFCClassAction. Paul already cites data released in the lawsuit. Performative publicity stunts do not accomplish anything.”
In addition to Jake Paul Dana White has a long list of athletes and personalities that he has shared feuds with. These include former champions Ken and Frank Shamrock, author Loretta Hunt, referee ‘Big’ John McCarthy, journalist Ariel Helwani, former champion Tito Ortiz, Affliction owner Tom Atencio, the website Sherdog, boxing promoter Bob Arum, The Culinary Union, boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, former two-division UFC champion Randy Couture, former boxing champion and promoter Oscar De La Hoya, the entire AKA Gym, MMA trainer Greg Jackson, and PRIDE FC champion Fedor Emelianenko and his management team, among others.
“To all UFC fighters – time to take a stand and create value for yourselves and your peers,” Jake Paul said, “You deserve higher pay, you deserve long-term health and above all you deserve freedom. Support each other. I am not your enemy. I am your advocate…who selfishly wants to KO a few of you to make some big bank.”
