After a packed Saturday of MMA, the weekend of competitive violence ends with another Sunday afternoon and early evening of action in the Lone Star State. Nine days removed from Fury FC’s last card, the promotion sets up in Houston, an area still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Beryl earlier on in the month.
Fury FC 94 originates from Imagen Venues in Houston. Unlike Fury FC 93 on Friday, this Sunday’s event features all professional MMA fights all day long. Barring any 11th-hour postponements or adjustments to the bout order, the final version of this event features 14 MMA contests.

Middleweights Do Battle in Fury FC 94 Main Event
Highlighting the day’s activities is a title fight at 185 lbs. in the Fury FC 94 main event. The Vacant Fury FC Middleweight Championship is at stake when Bellator MMA alumnus Ty Gwerder (7-4 MMA, Fury FC promotional debut) meets Adam Vigil (9-1 MMA, 3-0 Fury FC.)
As with all Fury FC main events, this title fight is an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round to close out the show.

Heading into the Fury FC 94 main event on Sunday evening, both contestants stand level at 6-foot-1. Vigil owns a 3 1/2-inch reach advantage (76 1/2 inches to 73 inches even) over Gwerder.

Ty Gwerder Looking to Claim Belt in Fury Debut
Ty Gwerder enters Sunday’s Fury FC 94 main event having posted a record of 2-3 in his last five fights. Currently, he’s on a two-fight winning streak.
Last time out, he scored a split decision victory over Shane Sobnosky (8-3 MMA) in a rematch of a fight from July of 2022 in August of 2023. Prior to returning to the regional circuit in MMA, he sustained a two-fight losing streak in Bellator.
Upon Gwerder besting Sobnosky in the UFL (United Fight League) Middleweight Semifinal last summer, he was to have returned this past December to face Ryan Loder for the UFL Middleweight Championship in UFL 4. The Dec. 15 card in Mesa, AZ was postponed ahead of fight night, however.
UFL 4 was eventually rescheduled for this past April, though the focus shifted to the UFL Bantamweight Championship and the UFL Welterweight Championship. Gwerder had a shot at middleweight gold taken away from him for reasons beyond his control when the UFL called off the show late last fall. Now, can Gwerder score the title in his Fury FC debut?
Adam Vigil Rides Five-Fight Winning Streak into Fury FC 94 Main Event With Opponent Change
In the other corner, Adam Vigil has gone 5-0 in his last five fights. Last time out, he scored a unanimous decision victory over Ivan Valenzuela (8-4 MMA) on March 24 during Fury FC 88 on UFC Fight Pass.
Ty Gwerder was not supposed to be standing on the other side of the cage on Sunday, however. Initially, Adam Vigil was booked to have face Jordan Wright in the main event this weekend. Wright withdrew from the show prior to fight night.
Having a change in opponent in the run-up to the fight is never easy. How well has he been able to adjust to his new adversary?

This looks to be another toss-up in the Fury FC 94 main event. Both men know how to score a knockout, having combined for 11 such wins into Sunday’s card.
Watch Gwerder’s Kicks
A hallmark of a good MMA fighter is his or her ability to utilize the kicking game in order to set up or cause a knockout victory. One only needs to look at the tape of Ty Gwerder’s UFL fight against Dan Huber last year for proof. During the second round of the fight, Gwerder landed some ground and pound shots from top mount.
Upon returning to his feet, he moved in on Huber and connected on a tremendous kick to the head to sit him down. A couple of ground and pound shots ended the contest.
If Ty Gwerder lands one kick square on the button, it’ll be good night in the Fury FC 94 main event.
Vigil Has Fists of Fury
In the other corner, Adam Vigil can dominate a fight with his punches. After dominating Tommie Britton with ground and pound in the first round of their bout last September, he kept his foot on the gas by landing vicious body shots in round two before absorbing some elbow shots.
Upon taking Britton down, Vigil reasserted his dominance on the ground, with the referee warning Britton that he’d end the bout if he remained in closed guard. Vigil just continued to pour on the shots before the official intervened.
Once Adam Vigil puts a guy on the mat, it’s his world and we’re all living in it.
