GLORY 83 Confirms Two Title Fights with Maslobojev and Wisse

GLORY Kickboxing has announced that GLORY 83, on February 11 in Germany, will feature middleweight and light heavyweight championship fights. Sergej Maslobojev will face Donegi Abena for the light heavyweight crown while Donovan Wisse will look to defend his middleweight throne against Cesar Almeida.

The February 11, 2023 fight card will have more fights updated and announced in the coming weeks. In Essen, Germany GLORY 83 will be hosted at the Grugahalle.

Two Title Fights at GLORY 83

Lithuania’s Sergej Maslobojev was able to capture the vacant GLORY light heavyweight world championship in a war against Tarik Khbabez.”KuvaldaMaslobojev has now put together an impressive 12-fight win streak.

At GLORY 83, the Surinamese-Dutch fighter Donegi Abena will look to take the light heavyweight throne for himself. At GLORY Collision 4, the 24-year-old athlete cemented his top contender position by soundly defeating Felipe Micheletti.

This will be the second time that Maslobojev and Abena have fought. In 2021, the Lithuanian athlete Maslobojev was able to defeat Abena in a close Split Decision. At GLORY 83, with the world kickboxing title on the line, Abena will look to avenge his loss. The Suriname-born Donovan Wisse earned the GLORY middleweight world championship with a TKO stoppage against Yousri Belgaroui, and then defended the title against Juri De Sousa.

Brazil’s Cesar Almeida will look to capture the middleweight crown at GLORy 83. Almeida is a former world champion in SUPERKOMBAT  and WGP Kickboxing. He earned his top contender spot when he battered Serkan Ozcaglayan in 2021. Donovan Wisse has a previous win over Cesar Almeida, in 2019. Almeida will be looking to redeem himself and earn the kickboxing crown.

GLORY announces two title fights for GLORY 83 in Essen, Germany

GLORY, the world’s premier kickboxing organization, announced GLORY 83, taking place February 11th, at Grugahalle in Essen, Germany.

The main event will feature a Light Heavyweight Title fight between current champion Sergej Maslobojev and number one ranked contender Donegi Abena.

Additionally, the co-main event will feature a title fight in the Middleweight division, with champion Donovan Wisse defending his belt against top contender Cesar Almeida.

More bouts will be announced in the coming weeks.
