With KSW 50 less than a month away now, the card is starting to take shape with six bouts announced including four title fights for the company’s “gold” anniversary. It is a KSW norm to announce the full card about a month out so look for KSW to drop heavy bouts often from now on until the bout sheet is full. Until then, here is a quick run down of the four title bouts we do know for KSW 50 taking place September 14, 2019 in London, England on ksw.tv.
Four Title Fights on Tap
Phil De Fries vs. Damian Grabowski
Arguably the biggest (no pun intended) bout on the card is the massive heavyweight main event between KSW’s pound for pound king, Phil De Fries, defending his title against former UFC fighter and organization new comer Damian Grabowski. Grabowski won his KSW debut at KSW 49 in May 2019 knocking out former champion Karol Bedorf. Though Grabowski is only 1-0 in KSW, he is not short on experience at all sporting a 22-5 professional recording dating all the way back to 2007. Also to add, Grabowski’s last five victories in a row are all finishes.
De Fries is without a doubt Grabowski’s toughest task to date. The KSW pound for pound king is coming off of a title defense against light heavyweight champion, Tomasz Narkun, in a champion vs. champion matchup which took place at KSW 47 in March 2019. De Fries is currently riding a 5-0 win streak which includes an undefeated 3-0 KSW reign. He can end the contest on the feet or on the mat which makes him extremely dangerous. De Fries looks to have the home field advantage in England and will not allow Grabowski to take a victory on his home turf easily.
Norman Parke vs. Marian Ziolkowski
With featherweight and lightweight double champion, Mateusz Gamrot, taking some time off, the interim lightweight title will be up for grabs at KSW 50 with Northern Ireland’s fighting pride, Norman Parke, seeking another chance to wear KSW gold as he takes on “Goldenboy” Marian Ziolkowski of Poland. Parke (27-6-1) is 5-1-1 since joining KSW after his time in the UFC. Both the loss and no contest draw have come to the division’s current champ, Gamrot. Since the no contest at KSW 40:Dublin, Parke has went on a 4-0 run defeating all opponents by unanimous decision. In his last two bouts he has dominated former division champions Artur Sowinski and Borys Mankowski. Parke is want to implement that pressure as Marian is a deadly ground fighter with the majority of his 21 wins coming by way of finish.
Marian is a very active fighter last competing at KSW 48 in April 2019 where he defeated fellow Polish fighter, the extremely dangerous striker, Gracjan Szadinski. He has won his last two fights in a row after a submission loss to former champion and one of the most dangerous submission artists in the sport, Kleber Koike Erbst. Marian is similar to Parke in that both fighters like to push the pace. This has all the potential to become fight of the night. Both fighters are also dangerous in the stand up game or the grappling game too. It will only take one mistake for the other to capitalize and earn the interim title.
Roberto Soldic vs. Patrik Kincl
Arguably the man with the deadliest one-punch power in all of KSW, welterweight champion Roberto Soldic, returns to the cage for another title defense marking his third bout since regaining the title from Dricus Du Plessis. Since that Du Plessis rematch, all three of his bouts have ended by way of knockout. These have not been just any knockouts, but all three have been knockout of the year candidates. Soldic displays one-punch power in every sense of the phrase. The KSW newcomer Patrik Kincl could be in for a very short night if he comes in trying to make a name for himself wanting a flashy finish.
Kincl (22-9) is making his KSW debut but does have experience under his belt which may serve to be his biggest asset stepping into the cage for KSW 50. Kincl has a variety of ways to finish with his last three bouts ending by way of knockout, submission, and most recently a unanimous decision. He has fought on the ACB stage, but the lights are much brighter in KSW and this is quite the test to be across the cage from you in your debut.
Tomasz Narkun vs. Przemyslaw Mysiala
Light heavyweight champion Tomasz Narkun returns to action after his touch decision loss to heavyweight champion De Fries. Prior to that bout, Narkun defeated KSW legend Mamed Khalidov twice in back to back bouts. Narkun (16-3) has finished every single one of his victories except for one unanimous decision bout with Khalidov in their rematch. Regardless of the loss to De Fries, Narkun remains the heart and soul of KSW, competing with the organization since KSW 27 in 2014. This will mark his 11th bout with the organization. Look for Narkun to get back on track and want to earn an emphatic victory.
Mysiala (23-9-1) is making his 15th year in the professional ranks and is getting his biggest shot to date on September 14th. Aside from an exhibition loss in The Ultimate Fighter Season 28 via first round knockout to Maurice Greene in July 2018, Mysiala has not suffered a defeat since August 2013. During that seven fight win streak, all of his victims have fallen to either TKO/KO or submission, most suffering a TKO/KO defeat. The former Fight Exclusive Night champion will want to throw Narkun in the fire early. The longer he lets the fight go, the better the chances become for Narkun to keep his crown.
