LFA 109 Results

LFA returns to action tonight with LFA 109, happening live from the Grand Hotel Casino and Resort in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The event is headlined by a battle between lightweights “T-Wrecks” Terrance McKinney and Puerto Rican prospect Michael Irizarry.

Irizarry will be making his first appearance in the LFA cage on short notice riding a two-fight winning streak. He comes into his first fight since 2019 sporting a 12-3 record, although only one of his wins has been against a fighter with a winning record.

He will get a massive step up in competition against Dana White Contender Series veteran McKinney, who competes for LFA for the second time. Since losing to now-UFC fighters Sean Woodson on the Contender Series and Darrick Minner in 2019, McKinney has picked up two straight wins, most recently picking up a 17-second head kick KO just over a month ago at LFA 106. Both fighters are prolific finishers, so expect this fight to not go to the judges’ scorecards.

The LFA 109 co-main event features a bantamweight showdown between Palestinian Askar Askar, who was briefly signed to the UFC earlier this year, and the surging Justin Wetzell. Askar was set to face Cody Stamann at UFC Vegas 18 in February, but a failed medical test forced him out of the contest and subsequently the UFC. As it is, he’ll look to get back into the “big show” on the back of a win over Elevation Fight Team product Wetzell, who is riding a three-fight win streak, including two in a row with LFA.

In LFA 109’s only women’s fight, five-time world karate champion Gerrica Trias will make her sophomore professional MMA appearance. In her debut at LFA 99, she picked up a third-round TKO victory. She will look to follow that up against 23 year old Elevation Fight Team prospect Ky Bennett, who is 1-2 as a pro, with all of her fights coming with Bellator thus far.

MMA Sucka has fight fans covered with the LFA 109 results tonight. The main card starts at 9pm ET/6pm PT on UFC Fight Pass, preceded by three preliminary card fights on LFA’s Facebook page at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
