Adam Livingston calls out King Green after earning UFC contract

Adam Livingston hasn't made his UFC debut yet, but he's already thinking big. The lightweight secured his UFC contract after defeating Hunter Smith at Dana White's Contender Series earlier this week and has opened up about his interest in facing King Green. No date has been set yet for Livingston's promotional debut.

Adam Livingston Secures UFC Contract

Livingston was persistent in his quest to sign with the UFC. After participating in DWCS last year and suffering his first career loss, the American came back to the show in 2026 and was finally able to secure his promotional contract. But it was not easy, though. The American defeated Smith by split decision in a fight that could have gone either way. In fact, UFC CEO Dana White admitted that he was heavily on the fence about rewarding Livingston the contract.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Livingston ultimately got the news he had been waiting for. Speaking at the DWCS 90 post-fight press conference, the American expressed his excitement about finally becoming a UFC fighter.

"I know I'm only 25, but I've been having this dream for a while," Livingston began. "I'm very happy all my hard work paid off, especially against such a game opponent in Hunter Smith. I wish I could've finished him, but I had to play it smart. He has power in his hands so I played a smart fight. I still had some exciting moments in there. […] I'm super happy I'm finally a UFC fighter. I've been wanting to say that for a f*cking long time."

Adam Livingston Wants King Green Next

With his UFC contract secured, Livingston is already thinking about his promotional debut and he wants to fight "big names." As a matter of fact, the American explicitly called out Green, saying he was confident in defeating the veteran.

"I want to fight big names," Livingston said. "One person I really want to fight is Bobby Green. I think I'd f*ck him up. I think that'd be a great fight to put on at MSG down in New York. I want some big names and get back in there and fight. I'm only young for so long. I want to make some good money and put on awesome fights."

At 39 years old, Green is actually in excellent form. The veteran is currently riding a four-fight winning streak and has already made three Octagon appearances this year, finishing all of his opponents. A matchup with Green would give Livingston a considerably more experienced opponent for his UFC debut.

For now, however, Livingston will have to wait for the UFC to decide when and against whom he makes his first Octagon appearance.
