The heavyweight veteran says Sergei Pavlovich could put Alex Pereira on a losing streak.
Alex Pereira is one of the most prominent names in the UFC. With just 13 fights in the promotion, the 39-year-old has held titles in two divisions: middleweight and light heavyweight.
Now, the Brazilian is looking to cement his name in the history books by attempting to win the third belt. In his quest, he will face Pavlovich in a five-round heavyweight bout at UFC 335 in December. However, Alexander Volkov believes it’s a no-win match-up for Pereira.
Alexander Volkov Predicts Alex Pereira’s Losing Streak
Alex Pereira debuted in the heavyweight division with a loss against the now-champion Ciryl Gane. He deems it a controversial result because of Gane’s back-of-the-head shot.
However, Alexander Volkov says heavyweight might just not be Pereira’s division. In an interview with Helen Yee, Volkov hilariously broke down the press conference between Pavlovich and Pereira.
He said, “It will be a very awesome press conference with both of them. One of them will say, ‘We’ll see,’ and the other one will say, ‘Chama.’”
“But I see Alex Pereira going on a losing streak because it’s a very hard matchup for him, especially because Pavlovich punches very hard,” Volkov said while talking about their fight.

The non-title five-round heavyweight fight will serve as the co-main event inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 12 December.
This fight serves as an important test for both contenders. Pereira will look to bounce back from his loss to Gane, while Sergei Pavlovich aims to extend his three-fight win streak.
If Pavlovich wins, he could make a strong case for a title shot next. Both contenders possess immense power in their hands.
However, Pavlovich is a natural heavyweight, unlike Pereira, who moved up from the middleweight division. He also has a 5-inch reach advantage over the Brazilian.
However, Pereira brings elite striking accuracy with volume, which could pose a threat to the Russian star. What happens in the fight can only be determined once they enter the cage. But one thing is certain: this bout will produce fireworks for the fans.
