Brendan Schaub Feels Gillian Robertson Owes Din Thomas a “Thank You”

Islam Makhachev and Ian Garry were the main event fighters of UFC 330, but the co-main event fighter made the most headlines. Even though Gillian Robertson lost the title match to champion Mackenzie Dern that evening, her loss brought her more fans and attention than she had ever received. Din Thomas, who was cornering Robertson, made ridiculous comments and mockery of her performance. Meanwhile, Brendan Schaub now has a completely different perspective on this, as he believes she owes a debt of gratitude to the former UFC fighter.

Brendan Schaub Believes Gillian Robertson Should Thank Din Thomas

As per Schaub, Gillian should thank Thomas for what happened. He believes the whole situation gave her a lot of attention, and now people are rooting for her. He also added Gillian learned how the UFC analyst really felt about her and her career. Instead of dealing with a messy team change, everything became clear and he really made things much easier for her.

“Gillian couldn't pay for this marketing. And I don't know a single person that's not rooting for Gillian to have success now. He did her the biggest favor. A, you found out his true feelings. He's not on your team. You thought he had your back for 15 years. He did not. He thinks you've reached your max potential. You can't do better. Cool. Made it very easy. And usually it's a nightmare to untangle that and go to a new team. There's drama when you have these conversations. He did you solid. You don't have to do any of that now,” Schaub said.

For those who are unaware, Thomas stated following the fight that this was "as far" as Robertson's career could go. He also declared on the live UFC 330 Post Show broadcast shortly after the fight that he would stop cornering fighters.

Kevin Gastelum Doesn't Buy Din Thomas' Apology

Gastelum brought up old accusations against Thomas, claiming he had leaked important details from Robbie Lawler’s camp to Tyron Woodley’s team before their fight. Later, Woodley went on to win by first-round knockout. On his social media, Gastelum dismisses Thomas’ apology, saying it looked more like damage control after the backlash.

"This is the same individual who acted as a mole during Robbie Lawler’s camp, leaking crucial preparation details to Tyron Woodley’s team ahead of their fight.A fight Woodley ultimately won via a brutal first round knockout. His latest apology feels less like genuine remorse and more like a calculated response to public outrage. Whatever Thomas says now will undoubtedly be mocked in light of what he said during the infamous live broadcast. It will be interesting to see what Robertson decides for her in the meanwhile and how she leaves her team.
