Kelvin Gastelum cites "mole" allegations on Din Thomas after fallout with Gillian Robertson at UFC 330

Kelvin Gastelum has revisited a controversy, lambasting Din Thomas for allegedly being a mole, amid his public fallout with Gillian Robertson.
Kelvin Gastelum has jibed at Din Thomas amid the MMA fighter-turned-trainer's highly publicized fallout with UFC women's strawweight contender Gillian Robertson.
Gastelum not only condemned Thomas's actions in the aftermath of Robertson's defeat at UFC 330, but also raked up a controversy from the MMA coach's past.
Din Thomas's post-UFC 330 debacle with Canadian MMA star Gillian Robertson
Gillian Robertson entered the co-headlining match of UFC 330, on August 15, with a chance to make history by becoming the first-ever female UFC champion from Canada. Nevertheless, the grappling savant was outpointed by multi-time BJJ world titlist and reigning UFC women's strawweight champion Mackenzie Dern.
Retired MMA fighter and UFC athlete-turned-analyst Din Thomas was in Robertson's corner for the fight. She was coached by the American MMA personality during her time at ATT (American Top Team) and subsequently at The Goat Shed Academy (Goat Shed), both in Florida.
She had, prior to the event, heaped praise on Thomas, whom she's trained with since the age of 16. However, after her defeat at UFC 330, the coach-cum-analyst made some remarks regarding her that sparked massive backlash from fans and experts alike.
Thomas insinuated that this was "as far" as Robertson could go in her career and that he'd retire from cornering fighters -- making the assertions during the live UFC 330 Post Show broadcast soon after the fight.
The vast majority of the MMA community slammed him for the nature and timing of his comments about his longtime student, and he issued a public apology on the Deep Waters show on UFC on Paramount thereafter. That said, Robertson and many others rejected the apology, citing that it lacked sincerity.
Furthermore, as reported by Ariel Helwani, who communicated with Robertson concerning the entire debacle, she indicated that there was "not much weight in the apology." Also, Thomas had reportedly implied to her that he'd made the public comments "for TV purposes and ratings."
Kelvin Gastelum highlights "mole" allegations, from Robbie Lawler vs. Tyron Woodley feud, to lambast Din Thomas over Gillian Robertson incident
Kelvin Gastelum has long been a member of the UFC roster and even fought Din Thomas's star student and close friend, former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, ironically, in the fight that preceded his title victory over Robbie Lawler.
Gastelum missed weight for that fight, but it still proceeded, albeit at a 180-pound catchweight. It saw Woodley hand him his first MMA defeat. "T-Wood" bested Gastelum via split decision in that matchup at UFC 183 in January of 2015. Woodley later faced and beat then-welterweight kingpin Robbie Lawler via first-round KO at UFC 201 in July of 2016.
Incidentally, Woodley trained with Thomas, who was with ATT in Florida at the time, and also split time at Roufusport in Wisconsin. At the time -- and in the ensuing years as well -- Thomas faced allegations of feeding crucial intel to Woodley regarding Lawler. Additionally, the "Ruthless" one departed ATT soon after his loss.
Well, veteran UFC welterweight and middleweight Kelvin Gastelum, following the UFC 330 debacle involving Thomas, has now harked back to the Lawler-Woodley feud and accusations of Thomas's being a mole.
Gastelum reacted to a clip from the Anik & Florian Podcast, wherein UFC commentator Jon Anik and ex-UFC fighter Kenny Florian criticized Thomas for his actions against Robertson.
Citing the past accusations against Thomas, Gastelum wrote the following on X, "This is the same individual who acted as a mole during Robbie Lawler's camp, leaking crucial preparation details to Tyron Woodley's team ahead of their fight. A fight Woodley ultimately won via a brutal first round knockout."
He added, "His latest apology feels less like genuine remorse and more like a calculated response to public outrage. True character is revealed in how we act when no one is watching, not how we damage control when the world finds out."

Kelvin Gastelum and Gillian Robertson continue their respective quests for UFC gold; Tyron Woodley threatens Sean Strickland over Din Thomas criticism
Kelvin Gastelum has the honor of being a TUF 17 (The Ultimate Fighter 17) middleweight tournament winner and a one-time interim UFC middleweight title challenger. The American fighter of Mexican descent was booked to face multi-time Glory Kickboxing middleweight title challenger Yousri Belgaroui in a middleweight MMA matchup at Noche UFC 4 on September 12.
Be that as it may, an injury marred the fight, and Belgaroui now faces Djorden Santos at the event. Gastelum later took to Instagram and confirmed that he's sustained an injury, which might require surgery, but he's affirmed that he'll try to avoid surgery and return at the earliest as he continues his journey to capture UFC gold.
On the other hand, Gillian Robertson, per Ariel Helwani, has emphasized that she aims to get back to the gym and continue her quest to become a UFC world champion.
"The Savage" has underscored that she remains undeterred in her mission, the loss at UFC 330 notwithstanding. Intriguingly, UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland was also one of the prominent MMA personalities who've castigated Din Thomas and supported Robertson.
Strickland even publicly posted supposed DMs he received from Thomas's friend, Tyron Woodley, who, he suggested, warned him about speaking against Thomas.
