Carlos Prates is Surprised About Ian Garry’s Disney Movie Admission

Carlos Prates and Ian Garry don't share a very good rapport. In his impressive UFC career so far, the only person who has beaten him is the Irish fighter. Ahead of UFC 330, Garry pointed out that he had a soft side to him beneath the rough exterior. The 28-year-old stated that he loved to binge on Disney movies and even cried watching them. This was a statement that left Prates surprised.

The Brazilian fighter recently had a conversation on Connect Cast. While delving into various topics, Prates recalled how Garry has admitted his emotional side while watching Disney movies. 

Surprised at the admission, Prates stated, “That's the guy who beat me... that's f*cked up man. F*cked up."

This came as a surprise for the Brazilian, most probably due to how much toughness Garry showed inside the octagon. During their face-off last year in April, the Brazilian witnessed five rounds of absolute dominance from the Irish fighter. As the bout went to the judges’ scorecard, it was Garry who was adjudged victorious. 

Ian Garry Backs Carlos Prates to Defeat Islam Makhachev

Ian Garry might have failed to topple the current UFC Welterweight Champion.  He's sure that one of his former rivals can defeat the Dagestani icon and clinch the title. Speaking with Eze Talks Sports, Garry pointed out that Prates’ striking is what sets him apart from Makhachev. 

The 28-year-old fighter said, “It’s a dangerous fight for both men. I think where Carlos is different to me is he’s far more aggressive, but equally I don’t feel like he’s as talented when it comes to stopping the grappling. So it’s a very, very interesting fight. Can Carlos land that one punch to knock him out, or can Islam take him down and finish him? It’s tough. Right now I feel like my heart is telling me that I think Carlos can get it done then we run it back again.”

Despite being rivals, the mutual respect between the two fighters is surely heartwarming.
