Carlos Prates sends warning to Sean Brady and Uros Medic: "Calm down"

Currently enjoying a great run in his career, Carlos Prates has drawn the attention of several fighters in his division. To those welterweights who have been calling for a fight with him, the Brazilian has a message: be patient. Through his social media, "The Nightmare" responded to Sean Brady, Uros Medic and other contenders by saying he intends to win the UFC welterweight title in his next fight before turning his attention to his rivals.

Carlos Prates Targets Title Shot in Next Fight

After winning his last three fights, Prates climbed up to No. 2 in the welterweight division and has emerged as a leading contender for the next title shot. Meanwhile, other top-ranked opponents who have won recently in the Octagon, such as Brady and Medic, have aspirations of putting their names in the title contention mix and are targeting a matchup with the Brazilian.

However, Prates has other priorities before dealing with them. The Nightmare took to Instagram to respond to the callouts, claiming he will first win the welterweight title before taking care of his other rivals in the division.

"A lot of you have been mentioning my name. Sean Brady, Uros Medic, and other guys in the welterweight division. Calm down. In my next fight, I'm going to win my belt, and then I'll take care of you guys. I'm going to send you to the realm of pain, be ready. It's nothing personal, just business."

Since his UFC debut in February 2024, Prates has lost only once inside the Octagon and has won all of his other seven fights by knockout or TKO, including victories over Neil Magny, Leon Edwards and Jack Della Maddalena. At UFC 330, Islam Makhachev will defend the welterweight title for the first time against Ian Machado Garry, with Prates potentially next in line for a title opportunity.
