Dakota Ditcheva Suffers Huge Setback After Recent Win

With just two fights since November 2024, it's fair to say the career of 28 year old Dakota Ditcheva hasn't played out how we all thought it would. With that being said, it isn't her fault.

After defeating Talia Santos and winning the 2024 PFL flyweight tournament, Ditcheva was potentially the hottest prospect in the entire sport. She was young, talented, a good talker and marketable. 

After suffering a broken hand against Sumiko Inaba in her return to action in July 2025, Ditcheva spent a prolonged period of time on the injury list.

Her return wouldn't come for an entire year, but when she did, she did so in typical domiant fashion. She took on Denise Kielholtz at PFL New York and looked back to her vintage best. Quick, spiteful and dominant. The performance is even more impressive with what she admitted online in a recent video.

Dakota Ditcheva Suffers Two Broken Hands... Again

Taking to her YouTube channel, Ditcheva treated fans to a 'catch up' after her PFL New York outing, teasing that she 'had some news'.

Ditcheva began the video by stating "I am, still am, will be, whatever you want to say, the best flyweight in the world".

She went on to say, "I never once underestimated Denise (Kielholtz), the whole world did apart from me, that's one thing I want to say".

She also said that having one fight in 18 months isn't good for her as she is someone who likes to fight regularly and that her performance against Kielhotlz was "good enough" taking into account that she was coming off two broken hands.

The flyweight star then dropped some 'breaking news' stating "I am injured again. I broke my hands in the fight, I could feel it from the second I started the second round. I didn't tell my corner, I didn't tell anybody. I didn't show it this time".

Discussing the injury itself, she said "I'm back in splints until my surgeon has decided what the next steps are going forwards, which will be in the next few days".

"I will be back," she said. "This is not going to take me out. My career is not done. Although it felt like that once again, I will be back. I'm hopefully going to be back quicker than I was last time."
