"Dan Pro***tute" - Dan Hooker wittily reacts to surname trolling, months after infidelity allegations, before UFC Paris

Dan Hooker has seemingly partaken in some self-deprecatory comedy, putting forth a witty fightback against those who've trolled him over his surname. 

"The Hangman" is believed to have had a rather tumultuous year, albeit he appears to have maintained quite the defiant and positive attitude. Hooker faced allegations of infidelity and much more a few months ago and was the subject of intense scrutiny. 

Presently, Hooker is booked to compete in a five-round lightweight matchup against former KSW two-division champion Salahdine Parnasse. They'll headline UFC Paris at the Accor Arena this Saturday, September 5.

Dan Hooker has been a part of the consensus world's premier mixed martial arts organization, the UFC, since 2014. He's time and again come close to the pinnacle of the sport, but the elusive UFC lightweight title shot remains something he's still very much in pursuit of. 

Irrespective of his standing as a fan-favorite and veteran MMA fighter, he's faced considerable trolling over his surname from more than a few netizens.

For context, the term hooker is known to be an informal/slang word for pro***tute, a professional who has s**ual int**course in exchange for financial benefit. On the other hand, the surname Hooker is known to be of English origin, and it points to a lineage of persons who made hooks, as well as agricultural professionals/workers who utilized hooks. 

Well, Dan Hooker, who's born and raised in New Zealand, is known for both his exciting fighting style and amazing sense of humor. In a video put forth by the @Home_of_Fight X handle, via @engageind, Hooker was seen signing posters of his upcoming fight that'll headline the much-awaited UFC Fight Night card in Paris, France. 

The t-shirt Hooker had donned featured the following terms, which apparently were his witty response to those mocking him over his surname. The graphics on the back of the t-shirt read, "Dan Pro***tute."

It also noted, "One Night In Paris," and "1800-Hooker," as well as "60 Second Stand & Bang."

Dan Hooker battled infidelity accusations from an individual implying she was his alleged mistress

Dan Hooker is currently looking to break a two-fight losing streak. He found himself on the wrong end of a submission loss against Arman Tsarukyan last year and was subsequently TKO'd by Benoit Saint Denis. 

In addition to the loss against "BSD" back in February, Hooker was publicly accused of infidelity by a social media influencer who went by the name "Keekgrace." The woman, who'd reportedly worked as an exotic dancer/str**per, suggested that she was in an on-and-off relationship with Hooker. 

She asserted that she'd tried to end their relationship multiple times, but he'd lure her back with expensive gifts. The person insinuated that he'd consistently cheat on her and she'd receive expensive gifts as compensation. 

The woman went on to claim that she ended their relationship after supposedly uncovering that the MMA star had cheated on her with a man. She accused Hooker of exploiting her physically, psychologically, and financially. 

The aforementioned developments caused a furore in the MMA realm and beyond. Many fans came to Hooker's defense, citing that one mustn't believe unfounded claims, adding that the individual making the accusations hadn't proven the UFC fighter guilty in a court of law. Hooker, on his part, took to X and seemed to make light of the accusations, jesting about her insinuations of his s**ual orientation and allegedly abusive acts. 

The following month, in March, to be specific, Hooker posted a detailed statement to his Facebook page. The 36-year-old indicated that he was addressing the allegations because of how they were affecting public discourse against his family.

Praising his wife and affirming that he'll always love her and their daughters, he cautioned people against believing everything they come across. Moreover, excerpts from his statement in his Facebook post read:

"I ended an arrangement with someone. Naturally she wasn't happy and asked for $100k for an NDA. I said no. What happened next was wild."

He added, "She was clearly upset and started a campaign of lies to try to embarrass and defame me, and mostly to intentionally upset my family." Hooker continued, "I'm not making excuses for myself. It is what it is. But it hurts when the people who end up getting dragged into it are the ones who did nothing wrong."
