“I guarantee you she’s a UFC champion”: Sean Brady defends Bella Mir after DWCS 89 loss
Sean Brady defended Bella Mir against online criticism following her DWCS 89 loss and boldly predicted that the young bantamweight will become a UFC champion.
In the main event of Dana White's Contender Series 89, Bella Mir took on Alex Apodaca in the bantamweight bout. She was more than -6000 betting favorite against Apodaca heading into the fight.
All eyes were on Mir, given that she is the daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir and an NCAA national champion wrestler. Many believed that it would be a cakewalk for her. However, the night turned out differently, and she lost via unanimous decision.
Mir has been receiving heavy criticism and hatred from MMA fans online, calling her a fraud. UFC welterweight Sean Brady has come to her defense, going off on the haters while making a bold claim about the women's bantamweight.

Brady was interviewed by Ariel Helwani, during which they discussed Mir's loss to Apodaca. The UFC welterweight argued that losses are an unavoidable part of MMA and that fans should not rush to dismiss a young fighter after one difficult night.
"It drives me crazy to see these guys online talking about ‘fraud check’ and all this. Like, how big of a loser are you? This is mixed martial arts. Anything can happen,” Brady said.
Brady believes the 23-year-old can use the experience to develop and made a bold prediction that Mir will become UFC champion in the future.
Brady predicts, “She’s 4-1 now. She’s 23 years old. I guarantee you she bounces back, and I guarantee you she’s a UFC champion.”
Brady goes off on trolls and emphasizes that online criticism comes from people who have never experienced the pressure of competing professionally.
“It’s always people who are losers, who have never accomplished anything, taking the chance to shit on somebody when they’re having a bad moment in their life," Brady added.

One positive is that she suffered the loss early in her career, giving her plenty of time to evaluate her performance and continue developing as a fighter. She was unable to earn a UFC contract at DWCS 89, and only time will tell when she will get another opportunity to join the promotion.
