Josh Hokit Fires Back at Alex Pereira: “How About You Get One Fu**ing Win?”

Alex Pereira recently came out and asked for a rematch against Ciryl Gane. Pereira also believes the rematch is the matchup that makes the most sense and seems very confident this time around, feeling he deserves another opportunity after claiming there were illegal shots in their previous fight.

However, heavyweight star Josh Hokit isn’t happy about the Brazilian star asking for another title shot. ‘The Incredible Hok’ dropped multiple posts on X slamming the former light heavyweight champion’s demands and mentioned that Pereira should face a lower-ranked opponent first.

Josh Hokit Slams Alex Pereira Over Title Shot Demands

Hokit has fired back at Pereira’s push for another title shot, saying the 39-year-old should get a win at heavyweight before being given another opportunity. The 28-year-old also said that, as a fan, he doesn’t think Pereira deserves an immediate title fight after being dominated by Ciryl Gane.

“As a fan, that fight makes no fucking sense. I watched you get demolished. How about a more favorable match up like Sergei who is basically a striker & way less athletic than Ciryl. How about you get one fucking win in this weight class before you are gifted another title shot?" Hokit wrote on X.

Hokit added that he would happily fight the Brazilian himself but says a championship clause in his contract means he wants to pursue the title fight and the bigger payday that comes with it. Fans have always enjoyed the tension between both fighters, as ‘The Incredible Hok’ has been trash-talking Pereira constantly.

Pereira lost to Ciryl Gane brutally at the White House, on the same card where Hokit defeated Derrick Lewis. Now ‘Poatan’ has asked for a rematch against Gane, but the 28-year-old believes he should first get a win in the heavyweight division. Pereira’s coach has also previously said that the former light heavyweight champion can defeat the 28-year-old.

Hokit vs. Pereira is a talked-about fight, and ‘The Incredible Hok’ has been building it up with one-sided trash talk. But the question is whether they can actually fight in the UFC. There are possibilities, as the Brazilian is chasing a three-belt status, and a win over Hokit might give him a stronger position to ask for the title shot.
