Matunga Djikasa vs. Terrence Born to clash for heavyweight title at EFC 138

EFC has announced a heavyweight title match between Matunga Djikasa and Terrence Born for EFC 138. This comes after Adama Diop vacated the title ahead of his trip to Las Vegas for Dana White's Contender Series.

A New King to Be Crowned at EFC 138

Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) has announced the fate of the heavyweight title. With the EFC Heavyweight Championship now vacant in the wake of Adama Diop's Dana White's Contender Series opportunity, two heavyweights are set to clash to crown a new champion.

Terrence 'The Mountain' Born is the number one contender for the title, with that being made clear by the promotion at EFC 132. Born and Diop had a heated first face-off, with fans looking forward to the announcement of their clash. With that no longer on the cards, Born has a new opponent to face for the title - and this is an even greater challenge.

Matunga 'HHH Power' Djikasa is one of the most notable names in the African MMA heavyweight scene. Djikasa has had two EFC Heavyweight Championship reigns, and was the man that Diop actually defeated to claim the title. Now, the Congolese heavyweight looks to pull off a three-peat with a third title added to his accolades.

The Old Guard vs. The New Age

This will be the first time that Born and Djikasa ever meet, and this is a classic bout of the old guard going up against the new age. Djikasa's first EFC bout took place in March 2018, and he has been a mainstay of the division since then. Born, on the other hand, only had his EFC debut in December 2024.

For Djikasa, the title picture is familiar territory, and certainly one he is eager to get back to. But things have changed since the time 'HHH Power' claimed his first and second title, and he experienced this first-hand with Diop's dominating performance. Born is entering uncharted waters with this title bout, but he has never been one to be short of confidence. Born has been eagerly awaiting his shot at the title, and he is determined to ensure that it's a successful attempt at getting to the apex of the heavyweight division.

The promotion has not confirmed whether this heavyweight title bout between Djikasa and Born will serve as the main event of EFC 138. Regardless, this will surely be set as either the main event or the co-main event closer to fight week.
