Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) has made a change to its 2026 event calendar, with one event now set to take place one week earlier than originally scheduled.

EFC 138 Card Taking Shape Already

EFC 138 was originally slated to take place on Thursday, Oct, 8, but the promotion has announced that it is now set for Thursday, October 1. The event is still set to take place at the WSB EFC Arena in Johannesburg, South Africa. The promotion confirmed that the remainder of the 2026 schedule remains unchanged, with four numbered events scheduled for the year.

EFC 138 already has eight bouts confirmed, with the card featuring a combination of established fighters, international talent, and rising prospects. Further additions to the card are expected in due time, including the announcement of the main event - which could be a title fight.

EFC Enters Busy Final Stretch

The EFC 138 date change means the event now takes place just three weeks after EFC 137, which is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10. EFC 137 will be headlined by the EFC Bantamweight Champion, Faeez 'The Troublemaker' Jacobs and Shadrack 'Babayega' Yemba, as they contest for the interim EFC Featherweight Championship.

Following EFC 138, the promotion will return for EFC 139 on Thursday, Nov. 5, before the promotion closes for the year with EFC 140 on Thursday, Dec. 3. While the promotion did not provide a specific reason for the date change to EFC 138, it indicated that it is preparing for a busy final stretch of 2026.

In the meantime, EFC has now released the official EFC 137: Jacobs vs. Yemba countdown.
