The British veteran will take on the rising Brazilian in a featherweight bout at the event in Paris.

Scheduled to take place Sept. 5, UFC Paris has a new featherweight bout added to its card. The promotion has announced this Thursday that Nathaniel Wood will be facing Mairon Santos at the UFC's return to Paris. Although the matchup doesn't feature two ranked opponents, both fighters enter the bout on winning streaks and looking to take another step forward in the division.

Nathaniel Wood looks to keep momentum going

An experienced fighter with more than eight years in the UFC, Wood is in great shape as he is currently riding a four-fight winning streak. The British veteran defeated Losene Keita by split decision last March and is expected to make his second Octagon appearance this year. Wood is a former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion.

Mairon Santos returns to action in Paris

Like his opponent, Santos arrives at the matchup with great momentum and has remained undefeated since joining the UFC. Currently riding a five-fight winning streak, the Brazilian defeated Muhammadjon Naimov by TKO in his last Octagon appearance. A former participant of The Ultimate Fighter 32, Santos has gradually been building a reputation as a dangerous striker within the organization.

With both fighters coming off wins, Santos and Wood will enter UFC Paris looking to continue their winning runs. For Santos, it will also be another opportunity to prove he belongs among the division's rising names.
