Navajo Stirling reveals the major advantage he has over Jiri Prochazka at UFC Qatar

Navajo Stirling has opened up about his UFC Qatar clash with Jiri Prochazka, explaining the matchup and why he believes he holds a major advantage.
The undefeated UFC light heavyweight Navajo Stirling is set for the biggest challenge of his career yet. He is headlining UFC Qatar against former UFC 205-pound belt holder Jiri Prochazka. The bout will go down on November 21, 2026, at the ABHA Arena in Al Rayyan (Doha), Qatar.
The matchup represents a major step up for Stirling, who will face one of the division's most experienced and dangerous fighters. Ahead of the highly anticipated bout, the New Zealander revealed the advantage he has over the former champion.
Navajo Stirling explains why Jiri Prochazka faces a major risk at UFC Qatar
Before the matchup with Stirling was announced, Prochazka had shared on his social media account that no other top-ranked UFC light heavyweight was accepting a matchup against him, and he teased that he would fight a new opponent. Now, he is set to face the New Zealander.
That said, the fight is a huge opportunity for Stirling, and he believes Prochazka's decision to accept it came with significant risk. During an interview with Ariel Helwani, Stirling explained that he had been willing to fight whoever the UFC offered before Prochazka's name came up.
“Yeah. Much better fight. Well, obviously, I just called them out because I thought it made sense. But I don't know how the sort of top 15 or top 5 works. I just said, I'm pretty keen to fight anyone. I'm just trying to do the right thing. And yeah, Jiri said yes. So here we are,” Stirling said
Helwani then asked Stirling if he was surprised that Prochazka agreed to the fight. The undefeated fighter admitted that he was, pointing out that the former champion has far more to lose than he does.
Stirling believes the matchup could be particularly difficult for Prochazka because of their shared gym connection. The New Zealander trains at City Kickboxing (CKB), the same gym associated with Carlos Ulberg, who recently defeated Prochazka at UFC 327 to capture the title.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's got a lot to lose. I don't have much to lose at all. And I've everything to gain, just like my last fight. And yeah, it'd be pretty sketchy for him to fight another CKB fighter. Obviously, coming off a loss to Carlos earlier in the year, he's going up against the same gym, same coaches, sort of able to break him down a little bit,” Stirling answered.

Prochazka suffered a devastating first-round knockout loss to CKB fighter Ulberg, and his teammate's experience will help Stirling against the Czech fighter, potentially giving him a more solid game plan to get his hand raised.
UFC Qatar clash could have major implications for Navajo Stirling and Jiri Prochazka
Stirling is riding high on confidence, as he has knocked out his last three opponents. He will try to capitalize on the momentum and get his hand raised via finish. Meanwhile, Prochazka, who has gone three wins and three losses in his last six fights, has a point to prove at UFC Qatar: that he still has what it takes to reclaim the title.
The matchup between Stirling and Prochazka could shape how the division moves forward. The winner of the fight could cement themselves as next in line for a title opportunity or potentially fight next in a title eliminator.
