Jiri Prochazka has never been a man of his word when it comes to UFC title fights. At UFC 327, despite his opponent’s injury in the initial minutes of the round, the Czech star suffered a first-round TKO defeat.
Now, Prochazka faces one of the toughest tests yet against undefeated contender Navajo Stirling on November 21 at the ABHA Arena in Doha, Qatar. And ‘BJP’ is more than ready for the challenge.
Jiri Prochazka Reacts to Navajo Stirling Bout
Jiri Prochazka shared a short video with his fans on Tuesday after the UFC announced that he would headline UFC Fight Night in Qatar.
He said, “Hello, all my fans. UFC Qatar, 21st of November, Navajo Sterling, thank you for your support. And let's go for that again; let's keep the power burning.”
The message was vintage Prochazka, who looked confident in the video. However, there is much more at stake in this fight.
Prochazka’s Road Back to The Title
Prochazka is one of the most prominent names in UFC light heavyweight history. However, his title reign as champion was far from smooth.
He held the title briefly following a stunning second-round submission victory against Glover Teixeira. But unfortunately, Prochazka had to vacate the title to keep the division moving after he suffered an injury.
He returned for the title against Alex Pereira in 2023 but suffered a TKO defeat in the third round. Their rematch faced a similar fate in 2024.
Now, after a two-fight win streak under his name, Prochazka might be one win away from the belt. However, Navajo Stirling can be an extremely challenging opponent.
He is undefeated at 11-0 and is riding a seven-fight winning streak in the UFC. Stirling has an aggressive fighting style combined with precision long-range striking. He also maintains composure under pressure
