UFC officials announced on Tuesday that Kennedy’s opponent at UFC Fight for the Troops 3 would be Brazilian Rafael Natal.

Kennedy (16-4) is coming off his UFC debut which was a unanimous decision victory over Roger Gracie. Prior to that bout Kennedy beat Trevor Smith at the final Strikeforce event. His last loss came to Luke Rockhold in a battle for the Strikeforce middleweight championship.

Natal (17-4-1) is on a three-fight winning streak, with his most recent victory coming against Tor Troeng in September. That bout earned the two combatants ‘Fight of the Night’ honors. Natal was expected to take on Ed Herman at UFC 167 in November – Herman will now await a replacement.

UFC Fight for the Troops 3 goes down on November 6th at Fort Campbell in Hopkinsville, Kansas. The event is currently headlined by the middleweight debut of Lyoto Machida, who will be taking on the former special forces operator Tim Kennedy.
