Travis Browne knocks out Alistair Overeem in the first round

In the co-main event Alistair Overeem took on Travis Browne in a heavyweight showdown.

Overeem didn’t waste any time to throw some big punches and knees which drove Browne into the cage and the two clinched up. Browne went for a flying knee and fell to the mat, Overeem landed some big punches and knees which dropped Browne to the mat. Overeem pummelled him with a flurry of punches and knees, but Browne withheld and returned with some big punches. Overeem went for a takedown midway through the round and Browne was able to stuff it and land some clean punches in the centre of the cage. With just under two minutes left Overeem looked to be breathing heavy and Browne continued to pour on the pressure with kicks. Overeem tried to come forward and Browne landed a front kick which dropped the big man and finished with some big ground and pound.

Browne just climbed the UFC heavyweight rankings with a big victory over Overeem.
