UFC Analyst Warns Josh Hokit About Ciryl Gane Matchup
Michael Bisping has sent a warning to Josh Hokit, stating that Ciryl Gane is a more well-rounded fighter.
Josh Hokit will be facing Ciryl Gane for the UFC Heavyweight Championship in November. As Hokit has gained some significant momentum with his knockout victories, the upcoming bout will not be an easy affair for the UFC heavyweight star. In fact, according to Michael Bisping, Hokit will have to face a “mountain” at UFC 334.
Following Tom Aspinall’s decision to vacate the title for health issues, Gane is now the holder of the belt. Following a dominant performance against Alex Pereira at UFC Freedom 250, Gane is looking for more challenges. Trying to analyze both fighters’ styles, Bisping came up with an interesting conclusion.
The former UFC star said, “Josh Hokit is going to wrestle Ciryl Gane – that's just a fact. He has to wrestle Ciryl Gane. Ciryl Gane moves so well on the feet. That's how I knew he was going to beat Alex Pereira. He's very, very light on the feet. He is very athletic, very explosive, and more importantly, really technical… It's a real challenge. It's a real struggle. It is a big mountain to climb for Josh Hokit.”
Bisping also pointed out that Jon Jones was able to take down Gane. But since that loss, Gane has worked significantly on his wrestling prowess. And that might be a big obstacle for Hokit. Meanwhile, Bisping also mentioned Hokit's positive aspects.

Josh Hokit is yet to face a defeat in his MMA career so far. Debuting in the UFC last year, Hokit has already racked up five back-to-back wins. His performances against Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis made the MMA realm sit up and take note. Trying to analyze Hokit’s style, Bisping labelled him as a “reckless” fighter.
Bisping said, “Now, Josh Hokit goes forward, throws kind of recklessly, but because of his takedown threat, because of his speed, because of his output, because of the constant forward momentum, he catches a lot of people…”
