After the internet slammed Islam Makhachev and called him boring compared to Ilia Topuria, UFC fans came to his defense.

The MMA world always gets divided whenever a wrestler wins a fight. When Khamzat Chimaev defeated Dricus Du Plessis, fans were quick to call it boring, pointing out that the whole fight stayed on the ground and that Chimaev never took any real risks.

Now fans are making the same noise about Islam Makhachev’s win over Ian Garry. Some started comparing him to Ilia Topuria, who took the risk of fighting outdoors at the White House card and mocked the Dagestani for playing it safe.

Topuria shot to the top fast, won two belts, and finished nearly everyone put in front of him. The loss to Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250 hurt, but fans still see him as the more exciting fighter when stacking him up against Makhachev, who just got past Garry at UFC 330. Not everyone was complaining, though, with one fan firing back: “Wrestling wins titles. TikTok edits don't.

“If it can't make me give up, let the control period end; let the era of rolling on the ground like a gypsy be over,” one fan wrote.

“Is it a sin to be a wrestler? I didn't get it,” another fan wrote.

“Absolutely right. Islam's matches bring on sleepiness. I definitely wait for his match a month in advance,” one fan wrote.

“It's called MMA for a reason,” another fan wrote.

“But going up against that Justin maniac with zero chance and getting all wrinkled up is serious madness,” a fan wrote.

“If you wanna watch bar fights, don't watch Islam's matches, for f**k's sake,” one fan wrote.

Carlos Prates Claims He’s Next To Fight Islam Makhachev After Signing New 8-Fight UFC Deal

Carlos Prates just dropped some big news, revealing he has put pen to paper on a new eight-fight UFC deal. On top of that, he claims he has been told he is the next man in line for Islam Makhachev’s welterweight title. He didn’t hold back when he sat down with Ariel Helwani recently, saying:

"I'm the next for the title. I think gonna fight maybe Belal Muhammad, or another fighter. But he needs to fight one more."

Meanwhile, plenty of people still think Michael Morales poses the biggest threat to the welterweight champion down the line. For now, fans are just waiting to find out who actually gets the call next for that welterweight title shot.
