Israel Adesanya Impressed With Islam Makhachev’s UFC 330 Dominance

Israel Adesanya is in awe of Islam Makhachev’s resilience following his UFC 330 win.
Israel Adesanya predicted a magical performance from Ian Garry in UFC 330. However, following the main event, it was evident that Adesanya’s predictions did not come true. Now, trying to analyze Islam Makhachev’s fight style, ‘The Last Stylebender’ has dropped an impressive take.
Israel Adesanya Praises Islam Makhachev’s Resilience
Dominating one particular weight class in the UFC is tough in itself. But doing that consistently in two weight divisions is something that needs extreme skills and expertise. And Makhachev has managed to do all of that in his UFC career till now. Coming up to the 170-lb division, Makhachev initially faced Jack Della Maddalena. Controlling him on the ground for 20 minutes, the 34-year-old secured his second title. Now, defending his welterweight title successfully, the Dagestani has garnered ‘Izzy’s attention.
Adesanya said, “These boys from the Caucasus Mountains, they are bred differently. Even when lan was using his knuckles on Islam's face, Islam still found a way to show how dominant they are, and that's what the record says."
Well, Adesanya has a point here. Ahead of the bout, there were talks about how brutal Ian Garry is as a striker. But despite Garry landing some vicious body kicks and punches, Makhachev remained unfazed.
Israel Adesanya and Demetrious Johnson Plot Islam Makhachev’s Retirement
At 34, Makhachev has achieved almost everything. Recently, rumors about the Dagestani fighter hanging up his gloves did the rounds. But Makhachev pointed out that he was hungry for more.
Reflecting on what more is left for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s prodigy to achieve in the UFC, Demetrious Johnson said, “I think if he gets two more or one more, I think stop chasing the dragon. Like that’s it, let your other boys. You look at Khabib, he can still do it, but he’s still involved in the sport. He still gets that stress, he still gets that anxiety because he’s with the team, a piece of him is in that Octagon.”
For the time being, Makhachev has confirmed his return before Ramadan. And in all probability, he will go against Carlos Prates.
