Michael Venom Page’s UFC exit has fans questioning why he was ever called boring.

Over the last few days, Michael ‘Venom’ Page has been the talk of the town. Last weekend, MVP fought and won against Nursulton Ruziboev. However, the bout was met with boos from the crowd due to its slow pace and Page’s cautious fighting style. While it was a typical MVP fight since he joined the UFC, despite his UFC Paris win, his contract expired and he was cut from the roster.

During his UFC run, he won five of his six fights. The one fight he lost was a very close bout against Ian Garry. Since he got cut from the roster, many fans didn’t feel that MVP deserved to be in that place, and they are now defending him on social media.

Michael Venom Page’s UFC Exit Leaves Fans Questioning His “Boring” Label

In recent times, the UFC has cut many fighters despite them not losing their fights. Fighters can be cut for several reasons. It may be the case of Muhammad Mokaev, who was reportedly not disciplined behind the scenes, or it can be the case of Demetrious Johnson, who wasn’t drawing enough fans.

Talking about Michael Page, it was the case of not providing entertaining fights. All five of his UFC wins came via decision, and despite whoever he beat, fans didn’t see them as entertaining wins. This is happening to Movsar Evloev as well, who has himself expressed his thoughts on it. Meanwhile, the fans came in support of MVP defending him.

“I don't get it about being “boring” look who is the middleweight champion rn, as if hes super entertainment,” a fan said.

“The disrespect is crazy. The man is 5-1 in the UFC with a loss from Ian Gary. Which in my opinion, isn’t that bad considering Ian is the #1 contender. Doesn’t matter how “boring” you think the guy is. Just because you don’t like his style, doesn’t mean he sucks. He’s still WINNING fights,” another fan said.

“@ufc you have to resign Venom he is good for the sport The match makers need to do better,” as per one fan.

“I agree, but he should try to make fights interesting, and atleast try for finishes. He has the skill set," a fan wrote.

“Agreed 1000%. Everyone wants Alex Pereira left and right knockouts every fight shit dosent work like that at a high level lol,” a fan said.

“Honestly the Dagestan fighters should be let go then because they are boring as shit,” a fan feels.

“Guys 5-1 against some of the top contenders and you cut him , but you’ve got Dan hooker fighting on main events who gets knocked out every week,” another fan added.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page’s MMA Career

Before entering the UFC, the British fighter had been knocking out Bellator fighters, and that too in style. He became famous for his unconventional, karate-inspired striking style and highlight-reel knockouts. Overall, he has over 26 wins in his career, while he has lost just three times.

Out of his 26 wins, 16 came via finish, which suggests he is not a boring fighter. However, in the UFC, he has been reserving himself so much that he even admitted he needs to change his style.
