UFC Heavyweight is Left Utterly Impressed with Islam Makhachev for One Reason

Islam Makhachev recently entered into the UFC GOAT debate. Having defended his welterweight championship successfully, the Dagestani fighter has wowed everybody with his fighting skills. Now, adding to his list of admirers, UFC heavyweight star Tai Tuivasa has shared an impressive take. 

Tai Tuivasa Heaps Praise on Islam Makhachev’s Skills

During a recent appearance on the ‘Show Me The Pod’ podcast, Tuivasa discussed Makhachev's prowess. He recalled the time when he trained with the Dagestani champion at the AKA gym. Looking at the two-division champion’s stamina and skill set, the heavyweight could not help but be impressed. 

Tuivasa said, “This c*nt is really good. I remember training with him in AKA and I remember going home and telling all my friends .. I said this c*nt is really good. They're like, he's not better than Khabib. And I said, bro, he can stand."

Makhachev has time and again been put to the test and has come out on the winning side. Right from the time when he defeated Alexander Volkanovski in consecutive fights to defend his championship in the 170lbs division. With just one loss in the UFC, Makhachev is being widely regarded as the best of modern times. 

Giving him his due flowers, Paddy Pimblett too, accepted Makhachev’s greatness. 

Paddy Pimblett Terms Islam Makhachev as The ‘Best’

Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett is not someone who praises his opponents. However, when he watched Makhachev in action against Ian Garry, the English fighter had quite a different notion. Looking at how tough the welterweight champion was, Pimblett confessed that he was lucky Makhachev moved up to the welterweight division. 

Pimblett quipped, “It's nice he's not in my division anymore because he's the best in the world."

‘The Baddy’ also had a stunned expression on his face following Makhachev’s vicious headkick on Garry. Currently, Makhachev is waiting for his next opponent and is ready to fight before Ramadan.
