Umar Nurmagomedov Warns Song Yadong After He Calls Their Fight “Easy”

Umar Nurmagomedov didn’t take Song Yadong calling their this weekend's fight “easy”.
Team Khabib shows no signs of slowing down. Fresh off Islam Makhachev’s win over Ian Garry at UFC 330, the spotlight now shifts to Umar Nurmagomedov, who takes on Song Yadong on August 29 out in Shanghai, China. And this could be his title-shot opportunity.
After suffering a title fight defeat against Merab Dvalishvili, the bantamweight star has put together back-to-back wins. A win over Yadong could put him right back in the title shot conversation. However, the Chinese fighter isn’t taking him seriously, and Nurmagomedov has something to say about that.
Umar Nurmagomedov Fires Back At Song Yadong’s “Easy Fight” Prediction
‘The Young Eagle’ has warned the 28-year-old that he is making a big mistake by underestimating him. “The Kung Fu Kid” believes the fight will be easy because he doesn’t think the Dagestani is as fast as Sean O’Malley. During a pre-show at UFC, Nurmagomedov said:
“He’s making a big mistake. It’s gonna be very hard for him. It’s not gonna be easy fight, trust me. Prepare yourself for a very difficult fight.”
The former title challenger also looks very confident heading into the fight and believes he will knock Yadong out. Many have previously mocked the Dagestani fighter for getting quick success, but he is now proving himself by staying active in the UFC.
Merab Dvalishvili Picks Umar Nurmagomedov To Win
Merab Dvalishvili has picked Umar Nurmagomedov to win his fight against Song Yadong. Dvalishvili and ‘The Young Eagle’ share an intense rivalry and have traded words online as well. However, picking Nurmagomedov to win will come as a shock to many.
"The only guy who I don't like from Dagestan, that's Umar, and his sneaky manager Rizvan... But I have so much respect for all the Dagestani people, especially fighters," the former bantamweight champion told Ariel Helwani.
After picking the 30-year-old, ‘The Machine’ didn’t hold back, saying Nurmagomedov is the one fighter from Dagestan he simply cannot get along with. He also brought up a backstage confrontation involving the Dagestani and his manager, saying that moment is what really lit the fire between them, even though he has nothing but love for Dagestani fighters as a whole.
Now fans are hoping these two end up across from each other in the Octagon again, because honestly, this is the kind of bad blood that makes the sport so entertaining to follow.
