Usman Nurmagomedov Reveals 90-Day Rule Blocking Him From Talking To The UFC
Usman Nurmagomedov has revealed a 90-day clause in his PFL contract that currently prevents him from negotiating with the UFC or other promotions.
Islam Makhachev has made no secret of the fact that he thinks Usman Nurmagomedov is heading to the UFC sooner or later. His reasoning is pretty simple too, the PFL has run its course for Usman, and fans have lost interest in watching him recycle the same matchups.
Makhachev put the odds at 90% and said the timing couldn't be better for the 28-year-old to come and prove himself against the best lightweights on the planet. The only problem right now is that Nurmagomedov himself has revealed there is something standing in his way.

Nurmagomedov can't pick up the phone and call the UFC just yet, and it all comes down to a 90-day clause sitting in his PFL contract. On top of that, talks with the PFL are still going on, which means he is legally blocked from having any conversations with other promotions for now.
“I can’t even start talking to anyone. As soon as the negotiations with PFL are over and that 90-period expires, then we can start talking to other promotions. But as for now the negotiating process is going on, and I’m not legally allowed to get in touch with other promotions,” he told Red Croner MMA.
Fans are already excited about what his arrival could mean for the lightweight division, though nobody is pretending it would be an easy ride. The competition at 155 is brutal, and whoever gets put in front of him on debut day is not going to make things comfortable.
Usman Nurmagomedov Says He Can Beat Anyone From The Top 10
Nurmagomedov expects to have a clearer picture of his next move by the end of October. The 28 year old also shot down any talk of easing himself in with a tune-up fight, saying he would rather go straight at someone from the top 10 from day one.
"Name me a single fighter who would make me afraid. Let them put any opponent they want in front of me. Arman, Justin, Oliveira, Holloway... Who's left? The entire top 10. I can beat anyone in this division," Nurmagomedov said.
The former PFL champion isn’t afraid of anyone and has already named fighters like Arman Tsarukyan, Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira, and Max Holloway as potential opponents. These names are already at the top of the sport and have plenty of experience, so a fight against any of them would certainly create plenty of buzz around Nurmagomedov’s UFC arrival.
