ONE on Prime Video 2 Results

There are not enough worthy, timely trilogy fights in MMA, but ONE Championship knows how to give fans the goods. Angela Lee moves up once again to challenge incumbent champion Xiong Jingnan for her 125lbs title after the two have split wins against each other. This and much more goes down in Singapore, so stay tuned for full ONE on Prime Video 2 results.

For All the Marbles- Xiong vs. Lee III

It is uncommon that a situation like the one between ONE 115lbs champion Angela Lee and ONE 125lbs champion Xiong Jingnan pans out like it has. First, Lee moved up to challenge Xiong for her belt, and failed to do so. Then, Xiong dropped down to see if she could take Lee’s belt- and also failed. Both have kept their belts and remain the two best women to fight MMA in ONE Championship.

ONE’s strawweight division (125lbs) has been a sore spot for Lee, where’s she’s gone 0-2. However, after coming back from pregnancy to defend her own belt against 115lbs Grand Prix winner Stamp Fairtex last March, her self-belief has to be sky high that she can achieve the impossible. Beating Xiong this time around would be a double victory where she has failed before.

For Xiong, several- including ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong– have questioned Xiong’s killer instinct in recent fights. She absolutely needs to drive that if she wants to keep the belt against Lee. She has cleaned out her division, and there are no challengers left for her outside of this third Lee fight. Beating Angela Lee would solidify her as the best woman MMA fighter in the organization.

Rest of the Card- ONE’s First Grappling Champion

A brand new belt for ONE’s newest venture will be delivered when Mikey Musumeci enters combat with Cleber Sousa for the vacant flyweight (135lbs) Submission Grappling championship. Musumeci, the 26 year-old American, tapped Masanori Imanari in his ONE debut last April. Sousa, of Brazil, is making his ONE debut. The two black belts have already faced each other twice, also splitting their series 1-1.

Also competing for the first time since failing to capture the belt against Angela Lee is Thailand’s Stamp Fairtex, who returns against Indonesia’s Jihin Radzuan. Arguably the best two female MMA fighters from their respective Southeast Asian countries, this important fight in the division could produce the next contender. Radzuan in particular is on a three-fight win streak and recently bested Ituski Hirata at ONE: X last March.
