DWCS 92: Second Half of Season Begins Tuesday!

DWCS 92, week six of the 10th anniversary season of Dana White's Contender Series, is upon us. Tuesday night, the second half of the midweek MMA promotion's schedule of events for 2026 begins inside Meta Apex.

Through five weeks of the season, 24 fighters have earned contracts to the UFC, including four last Tuesday. Live coverage of DWCS 92 begins Tuesday night at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT on Paramount Plus. 

As is customary, five fights will be held inside the fabled Octagon with each of the 10 fighters booked to appear on the show having the same goal in mind: Securing a deal in MMA's No. 1 promotion. Who will be lucky enough to win a golden ticket this week?

DWCS 92 Main Event: Mayton Perea vs. Zevan Hunt: Perea Seeking Fourth Knockout in a Row

At the top of the bill on Tuesday night, the welterweights take center stage when Mayton Perea (8-3 MMA,) once a champion in Extreme MMA Enterprises, battles Zevan Hunt (7-0 MMA,) a former Rage in the Cage OKC Welterweight Champion. All Contender Series fights are three rounds at five minutes per round.

Perea will be making the walk on Tuesday having gone 4-1 in his last five fights. At the moment, he's won three fights in succession, with all three of those wins being recorded by knockout, including a first-round stoppage against Wellington Madeira (7-3 MMA) on May 27. 

From there, Perea was due to have versed Cristian Dominguez (14-8 MMA) in July, but that fight was withdrawn upon his booking for DWCS 92. He's got three knockout wins in succession to his credit, so can he score his fourth straight KO and, by extension, a UFC contract?

Undefeated Former Champ Tries Luck in DWCS 92 Main Event

Meanwhiule, Zevan Hunt has yet to lose in his professional MMA career. Counting amateur competitions, he's won eight fights in succession, including a second-round submission by way of kneebar against Devin Smyth (12-5, 1 NC) in Peak Fighting 51 on March 21.

He hasn't fought in close to six months ahead of DWCS 92 this week. Although his professional MMA record is unblemished going into Tuesday's fight, how much ring rust does he have after this hiatus?

DWCS 92 Co-Main Event: Igor Cavalcanti vs. Oscar Ravello: Cavalcanti Getting Second Chance on DWCS

Immediately beforehand, the co-main attraction of DWCS 92 takes place in the middleweight ranks. Igor Cavalcanti (13-2 MMA, 0-1 DWCS) makes his second Contender Series appearance in the last three years against Oscar Ravello (13-3-1 MMA,)  previously the WGC Middleweight Champion and FFC Welterweight Champion. This fight was initially slated for the Sept. 29 event, DWCS 94, before being moved up to this week's show.

Cavalcanti comes into this rescheduled fight with a mark of 4-1 in his last five outings. He's won two fights in a row.

Last time out, he scored a first-round knockout with four seconds remaining on the clock against Marek Jakimowicz (7-2 MMA) during FMC 31 on May 31. Previously, he appeared during season eight of DWCS, losing by way of unanimous decision at the hands of Seok Hyeon Ko after 15 minutes. 

Second chances are hard to come by, both in life and the fight game. Can Cavalcanti make the most of the opportunity he's been afforded?

Oscar Ravello Seeking to Trade Championship for Contract

Across the way, Oscar Ravello is sporting a 4-1 record in the past five contests. He's gotten his hand raised twice in succession.

On the night of April 16, he scored the WGC Middleweight Championship with a first-round submission due to arm-triangle choke against Fernando Gomes (5-5 MMA) during WGC 12. With Ravello having two championships to his credit in recent times, his resume looks impressive even before he tries for the contract.

All that's left for him is to put on an impressive show in the cage on Tuesday night.

DWCS 92: Akbar Abdullaev vs. Ednilson Santos: ONE Stalwart Aims for UFC Deal

Also on DWCS 92, the lightweights do battle when Akbar Abdullaev (13-0 MMA,) formerly of ONE Championship, fights Ednilson Santos (14-7-1 MMA.) Abdullaev has yet to taste defeat as a professional.

A little over a year ago, Abdullaev made his last walk to the ONE Circle and finished Ibragim Dauev (12-2 MMA) with a third-round knockout. In the spring, Abdullaev was released from ONE Championship as part of a series of cuts made to the promotion's MMA roster.

Will Abdullaev's spotless record be intact once Tuesday's show ends? Only time will tell. 

Ednilson Santos Coming In on Short Notice

In the other corner, Ednilson Santos has a mark of 3-2 in his last five fights. In late May, he scored a unanimous decision victory over Shaheen Santana (9-7 MMA) during LFA 233. He enters DWCS 92 as the late replacement for Abdullaev's original opponent, Anthony Figueroa, who was unable to make the walk due to reasons unknown.

Santos and his camp can certainly relate to having fights canceled. Of his last seven scheduled fights, five have been called off without a punch thrown. This includes his originally-planned fight for Oct. 23 against Joe Giannetti in LFA 244. 

Last week, he wasn't even so much as booked to appear in DWCS 92. How will he do with such a short window to prepare for this fight?

DWCS 92 is rounded out by a middleweight contest between Hugo Guillon (7-1 MMA) and Luis Hernandez (7-0 MMA) and a featherweight bout matching Antonio Monteiro (18-5-1, 1 NC MMA, 0-1 DWCS) with Tyshawn Williams (8-0 MMA) in the former's second DWCS appearance.
