EFC 138: Date, Time, Location, Fight Card and How to Watch

EFC 138 is officially two weeks away, and the card has plenty to offer fight fans. The main event will crown a new EFC Heavyweight Champion, and the rest of the card could also shift things in other divisions. Here is everything you need to know about EFC 138.

EFC 138 Date, Location, and Time

EFC 138: Djikasa vs. Born takes place on Thursday, Oct. 1. The event will emanate from the World Sports Betting EFC Arena in Johannesburg, South Africa. The prelims are expected to start at 3 PM CAT/9 AM ET, while the main card is scheduled to promptly begin at 7 PM CAT/1 PM ET.

EFC 138 Main Event: Matunga Djikasa vs. Terrence Born

Matunga 'HHH Power' Djikasa is a two-time former heavyweight champion in the EFC, and he is looking to claim his third title. The Congolese heavyweight is one of the mainstays in the promotion, but his standing in the division is set to face one of its toughest challenges yet.

Terrence 'The Mountain' Born is one of the most intriguing prospects in the EFC, and he remains undefeated at 4-0. The heavyweight division is always ready and open for fresh and exciting new talent, and Born might be the latest to take up that mantle. 

With an 8-6 record and coming off a recent title loss, Djikasa will be looking to utilise his experience to get back to the champion ranks of the EFC in this match-up. Born has secured finishes in all four of his professional bouts, and he is yet to see the third round. That momentum could be the defining factor in this match-up.

EFC 138 Co-Main Event: Gift Walker vs. Sithembiso Hadebe

Gift 'The Day' Walker returns to the EFC Hex at EFC 138. The former flyweight champion attempted to claim Faeez Jacobs' bantamweight title at EFC 135, and Walker managed to push Jacobs the entire five rounds. At EFC 138, Walker competes in another bantamweight clash, this time against someone who is familiarising himself with the division once more.

Sithembiso Hadebe made his return to the promotion at EFC 136, after almost two years away from active competition. Hadebe managed to pick up a unanimous decision victory that night, and he looks to raise his stock in the bantamweight division with this next bout. A win over a former champion in the promotion could significantly boost Hadebe's own standing at 135 pounds.

Jacobs just claimed the interim featherweight title at EFC 137, but he is still also holding the bantamweight gold. The bout between Walker and Hadebe could yield Jacobs' next challenger at bantamweight. For Walker, this could cement his place at the top of the 135-pound division. For Hadebe, this could be a fast-track ticket right to the top of the pile.
