UFC 227 Results

UFC 227 is live from Los Angeles, California bringing a night full of rematches. Bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw puts his title on the line against the man he took it from, Cody Garbrandt. These former teammates first met at UFC 217 in November after a heated run on The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption. Garbrandt came close to ending the fight in the first round after dropping Dillashaw with seconds to go. As Garbrandt looked for the finish, the horn sounded, saving Dillashaw. In the second round, Dillashaw began to pick things up. He dropped Garbrandt with a head kick and then later ended the fight with a hook and ground and pound. TJ Dillashaw was UFC bantamweight champion once again.

In the co-main event, one of the greatest mixed martial artists ever puts his flyweight title on the line. Demetrious Johnson will go for his 12th straight title defense as he looks to extend his record against former challenger, Henry Cejudo. These two first met at UFC 197 in 2016 as Johnson was looking for his eighth title defense. The fight ended very early as Johnson put on a show in the clinch, hurting Cejudo with knees to the body before finishing the fight. Now Cejudo is back after looking much improved over the last two years to try to redeem himself.

Also, Polyana Viana takes on JJ Aldrich in a women’s strawweight fight. And finally, to open up the main card, Kevin Holland will make his UFC debut after a successful showing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender’s Series.
