The Best Bets for UFC Paris: Gane vs Spivak

Ange Loosa vs Rhys McKee

Halfway through the prelims, a battle of welterweight strikers is set to go down. Ange Loosa (9-3, 1-1 UFC) is coming off of his first UFC win in his fight against AJ Fletcher, confidently securing a unanimous decision. “The Last Ninja” is a high volume striker who mixes it up well and is very strong with respectable speed.

The former Cage Warriors welterweight champion Rhys McKee (13-4-1, 0-2 UFC) is set to begin his second stint with the world’s premier MMA organization. In 2020, McKee got the call up from the UFC, but after suffering two straight losses, was axed from the roster.

McKee would string together three wins in a row at Cage Warriors, earning the 170-lbs. title along the way. This should be a fun fight to watch and with “Skeletor” looking better than ever, McKee is the pick.

Fight Pick: Rhys McKee Moneyline

Volkan Ozdemir vs Bogdan Guskov

Heading to the main card, a grizzled UFC vet will welcome a dangerous promotional newcomer. Volkan Ozdemir (18-7, 6-6 UFC) has never quite been the same after his failed attempt to dethrone Daniel Cormier from the 205-lbs. throne in 2018. “No Time” has found just three wins in eight fights since then and the 33-year-old sits just inside the top-ten of the division.

Bogadan Guskov (14-2, 0-0 UFC) has built his name through the Russian MMA scene. Debuting professionally in 2015, the Uzbekistan fighter enjoys a four-fight win streak with all of those victories coming by way first round finish.

Guskov is going to rumble his way to victory in an emphatic performance that could earn him performance of the night honors.

Fight Pick: Bogdan Guskov via T/KO

Benoît Saint-Denis vs Thiago Moisés

In the highlight lightweight fight of the night, two dangerous 155ers look to make their push towards the top-15. Benoît Saint-Denis (11-1, 3-1 UFC) has looked phenomenal in his last three walks to the Octagon The “God of War” has secured three straight finishes—his latest of which was a dismantling of the surging Ismael Bonfim.

Thiago Moisés (17-6, 6-4 UFC) has also performed well as of late. The 28-year-old has notched two straight submissions, knocking off Christos Giagos and Melquizael Costa.

With the French crowd behind him, Saint-Denis will continue his winning ways on Saturday night.

Fight Pick: Benoît Saint-Denis Moneyline

Manon Fiorot vs Rose Namajunas

[metabet_core_odds_compare query=”537974″ size=”350×300″ site_id=”metabet-website”]

The co-main event tags together two high profile combatants to battle it out for their spot in the women’s flyweight division. Manon Fiorot (10-1, 5-0 UFC) has been unbeaten since her professional debut fight in 2018. With solid striking, Fiorot has managed 5 straight victories in the Octagon and has found herself at the top of the women’s 125-lbs. rankings.

Rose Namajunas (11-5, 9-4 UFC) will make a move up in weight after losing her strawweight title to Carla Esparza at UFC 274. Throughout her UFC career, Namajunas has developed into a well-rounded fighter and has defeated some of the best women’s athletes to ever enter the UFC cage.

On paper, this fight begs for a bet on France’s Fiorot. She is going to enter the fight bigger, stronger, and heavier handed than Namajunas. “Thug” has been in underdog spots before, pulling off a stunning victories, and considering her track record, its hard to count her out.

Fight Pick: Manon Fiorot Moneyline

Ciryl Gane vs Sergey Spivac

[metabet_core_game_tile query=”536925″ size=”350×300″ site_id=”metabet-website”]

The main event has title fight implications written all over it. Ciryl Gane (11-2, 8-2 UFC) is coming off a devastating first round loss to Jon Jones. The now #2 ranked heavyweight looks for redemption in a tough opponent in that of Sergey Spivac (16-3, 7-3 UFC). Spivac has found his way to the top of the heavyweight division by earning three straight finishes.

The big concern here is the takedown. Gane is so incredibly talented on the feet. Arguably one of the best heavyweight strikers of all time; however, Gane, when faced with an opponent who utilizes a grappling offense, has failed. Spivac will certainly look to do just that in this fight. Scheduled for five rounds, either Gane will perform beautifully on the feet finding a finish, or it will be Spivac grappling Gane into oblivion.

Fight Pick: Fight to End Under 2.5 Rounds (-2.5 Rds)
