WNO: Nicholas Meregali vs Kaynan Duarte Results

Tezos Who’s Number One returns to action tonight with a stacked card of grappling matches set to go down live from the Palmer Events Center in Austin, Texas.

The main event sees rivals Nicholas Meregali and Kaynan Duarte go head-to-head for the third time, with tonight’s matchup being their first no-gi match. Both Brazilian grapplers are multiple-time IBJJF world champions. Duarte has more no-gi experience, being a two-time ADCC gold medalist, while Meregali transitioned to no-gi competition last year. Since then, Meregali has won each of his two WNO bouts and two medals at the 2022 ADCC World Championships: a bronze in the -99kg division and a silver in the absolute division.

2022 ADCC -60kg gold medalist and current WNO flyweight champion Ffion Davies defends her title in the co-main event, taking on the well-rounded Jasmine Rocha. Davies has proven to be one of the best female grapplers around, and she will look to prove that once again against the 21-year-old Rocha, who became a black belt just last year but comes from a decorated lineage of grapplers as a member of the famed Rocha family.

The lightweight title will also be up for grabs as Canadians Dante Leon and Ethan Crelinsten square off. The 28-year-old GF Team product and 2022 ADCC -77kg bronze medalist Leon competed on the last WNO card and picked up a submission victory, while 2022 Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds Lightweight champion and B-Team product Crelinsten competes for the first time since capturing the Polaris lightweight title at Polaris 24 in June.

After a feud with “The King” Gordon Ryan, Felipe Pena is also back in action tonight in a heavyweight contest against Ghanian B-Team product Haisam Rida. Ryan’s younger brother Nicky Ryan is also set to compete for the first time since losing in the opening round of the 2022 ADCC World Championships when he battles former WNO Who’s Next competitor Rene Sousa. Sousa’s castmate, Andrew Tackett, will compete in the bout before him when he takes on Rafael Lovato protege Troy Russell.

MMA Sucka has fight fans covered with WNO: Nicholas Meregali vs Kaynan Duarte Results, with the preliminary card starting at 8pm ET/5pm PT on FloGrappling YouTube, immediately followed by the main card on FloGrappling.
