The ERGO Arena will be rocking May 18, 2019 when KSW 49 comes to town. The card is coming to completion and one more spectacular bout has been added. Long-time UFC veteran Thiago Silva (21-9) is set to battle Germany’s “King Kong” Martin Zawada (28-15-1.) This will be the third card KSW has put out for 2019. The headlining bout for this card will feature Scott Askham and Michal Materla in the finals of the middleweight title tournament.

Silva Returns to the KSW Cage

After his debut appearance at KSW 45 in October 2018 defeating James McSweeney via decision, Silva makes his KSW return. After that bout Silva took on a tough challenge in the undefeated Ivan Shtyrkov who defeated him at RCC 5 in December 2018. Ivan is Tapology’s number one light heavyweight in Russia and is set to make his UFC debut at UFC of ESPN+7. Silva is still a dangerous striker with 14 of his wins coming by TKO/KO. Look for Silva to add to that tally and make a run at another major organization title.

The Long-Time German Knockout Artist

Zawada will bring his 44 plus professional fight career into the cage with a very tough opponent. Zawada has scored 18 wins by either TKO or KO. His professional career began in 2003 and he’s been in the cage with some of the best including Materla, Jan Blachowicz, and Lukasz Jurkowski to name a few. Zawada will look to continue his latest string of knockout finishes in a battle that could easily steal Fight of the Night.
