Third time is the charm for two former light heavyweight title challengers as they finally collide and we will be providing UFC Fight Night 182 results all night. Originally scheduled to take place in September as the main event of UFC Fight Night 177. However, a week before the fight, Teixeira was forced out as he tested positive for COVID-19. Their fight was then rescheduled to serve as the co-main event at UFC on ESPN 16. This time, Santos tested positive for COVID-19, and their fight was pushed back once again. Now, with no obstacles in their way, they finally meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night 182.

Santos moved up to the light heavyweight division 2018 and quickly went on a three fight win streak. All three of his wins were KO/TKO wins as he finished Eryk AndersJimi Manuwa and Jan Blachowicz. The run earned him a shot at then-champion Jon Jones and after a really close fight, Jones walked away with the split decision win. Santos has been out of action since as he dealt with injuries in both legs. As for Teixeira, he had put together a very impressive run at the age of 40 (he turned 41 on October 28). During that run, Teixeira has put together four straight wins, with three of them being finishes. It started with back-to-back submission wins over Karl Roberson and Ion Cutelaba. Teixeira would then defeated Nikita Krylov by split decision before finishing former title challenger Anthony Smith by fifth round TKO in his last outing.

In the co-main event, former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski faces off against rising contender Tanner Boser. In his last four fights, Arlovksi has alternated wins and losses, going 2-2. The first loss was a split decision loss to Augusto Sakai before he defeated Ben Rothwell by unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 4. Arlovksi would then lose to Jairzinho Rozenstruik by knockout before picking up a win in his last fight. That fight was against Phillipe Lins as Arlovksi won by unanimous decision. As for Boser, he holds a record of 3-1 in his last four outings. The one loss came to another quick rising contender in Ciryl Gane. Boser made his debut in 2019 as he defeated Daniel Spitz by unanimous decision. After the Gane fight, Boser has picked up back-to-back KO/TKO wins over Phillipe Lins and Raphael Pessoa.

Kicking off the main card will be a fight in the women’s strawweight division as former title challenger Claudia Gadelha takes on Yan Xiaonan. Gadelha has won her last two fights over Randa Markos and Angela Hill. As for Xiaonan, she is on an eleven fight unbeaten streak as she has won her last five straight. Following that fight will be a featherweight fight between Giga Chikadze and Jamey Simmons. Chikadze enters the fight on a six fight win streak while Simmons makes his octagon debut. Finally, before the co-main event will be a bantamweight bout between Raoni Barcelos and Khalid Taha. Barcelos is on an eight fight win streak, most recently defeating Said Nurmagomedov. As for Taha, he had won his last two straight fights, however his most recent was turned to a NC after a failed drug test.
