Khabib Nurmagomedov continues to impress with the fighters he can round up for a fight card, and tonight two UFC fan favorites will go at it in Miami at Eagle FC 46. Prospects, veterans, and fighters kickstarting the next phase of their careers will duke it out on a card packed with fun from start to finish, as MMASucka brings live Eagle FC 46 results.

Eagle FC 46 Main Event – UFC Title Challengers, New Weight Class

When Kevin Lee left the UFC for much smaller Eagle FC, there was a sense that Lee still has his best performances still left to show. Still not even 3o years old, part of the appeal of joining Eagle was participating in Lee’s ideal weight class, super lightweight (165lbs). Since being submitted by Tony Ferguson in a UFC interim lightweight title fight, Lee has gone 2-4, with a brief try at welterweight.

Lee could very well carve out a new place in MMA for himself in Eagle FC, which along with Brave CF, is the only major promotion to have the 165lbs weight class. There may be no more notable of a name to kick it off against than the OG Ultimate Fighter, Diego Sanchez. Someday an MMA journalist will write a book about the last few years of Sanchez’s career, giving some of the quirkiest (and concerning) training footage that could only pair with the eccentric personality of “The Nightmare” Sanchez.

Sanchez unceremoniously left the UFC last year after a fight with Donald Cerrone fell through in a confusing situation regarding Diego’s medical examinations. Having recently turned 40, it’s hard to know what we’ll see out of Sanchez since he wisely departed from the much-maligned coach Joshua Fabia. While Lee has the far higher ceiling of the two at this point in their careers, Sanchez brings such intensity to every fight that it becomes more unpredictable.

The Rest of the Card – Heavyweight Championship and More

The co-main event of Eagle FC 46 is a vacant heavyweight championship fight between DWCS victor Rizvan Kuniev and ten-time UFC veteran Anthony “Freight Train” Hamilton. Despite winning on the Contender Series, the victory was not the blood-pumping statement win that would earn a UFC contract. He’ll look for that statement win against Washington’s Anthony Hamilton, who’s gone 3-1 since being ejected from the UFC.

Also on the card are several UFC vets with a lot in the tank as Ray Borg takes on former Bellator contender Ricky Bandejas, Impa Kasanganay fights Raimond Magomedaliev, former Nurmagomedov opponent Darrell Horcher faces Akhmed Aliev, and Irwin Rivera battles Firdavs Khasanov. The entirety of Eagle FC 46 streams for free on the FLXCast app.
