Combate Global returns tonight to kick off their 2022 action with a bang, bringing Combate Global 31 to fans live from the Univision Studios in Miami, Florida. The promotion founded by UFC co-creator Campbell McLaren brings “Mucho Mas Accion”, or “Much More Action” to fight fans tonight as Mexican fighters are pitted against American fighters.
In the main event, undefeated Cuban-American Sanford MMA product Angel Alvarez is set to face fellow four-fight veteran Daniel Sanchez. The 27 year old Alvarez made his Combate Global debut in his last fight at Combate Global 24 after starting off his career with Titan FC, picking up a dominant unanimous decision victory. He will face Sanchez, who rebounded from his first career loss in his Combate Global debut to bring his record to 3-1 in his most recent fight at Combate Global 25.
The co-main event brings Melissa Amaya to Combate Global’s “La Jaula” for the third time in as many professional fights as she takes on fellow three-fight veteran Yessica Ortega. Amaya made her professional debut at Combate Global 24 and followed up that finish win with another at Combate Global 26. Ortega, meanwhile, recently rebounded from a loss in her professional debut with a unanimous decision victory at Combate Global 28.
Also on the card are LFA vet Jake Childers, who will battle Mexican prospect Miguel Villegas, and former iKON fighter Kayla Hracho, who faces Combate Global fan-favorite Yajaira Cunningham.
