Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler Confirmed as Next TUF Coaches

Taking to his social media, Dana White has confirmed some massive news that had been rumoured for a number of weeks. Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will coach against each other on the upcoming series of The Ultimate Fighter which begins on May 30th.

White further confirmed that the two men will fight after they coach on the show, however, there is no date or location confirmed for their scheduled bout.

It will be the first time that we see McGregor since he suffered a leg break in his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier back in July 2021. He’s suffering through back-to-back losses for the first time in his career, both of which have come at the hands of Poirier and will be looking to get back on track against Chandler.

Chandler is 1-3 in his last four, however, has never been in a boring fight. Ironically, his last loss also came at the hands of Poirier at UFC 281 in November of last year.

There were rumours that McGregor would be coaching TUF against Tony Ferguson, however, White has confirmed that it will in fact be Chandler who faces off against McGregor.

Other News

In other news released by White, UFC 287 will take place in Miami, Florida. White previously revelaed that the event would be headlined by Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira in a rematch for the middleweight title and the co-main event will feature top welterweights, Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal.

He also revealed that Sean O’Malley has signed a new eight-fight deal with the promotion after his big win against Petr Yan in October.
