Misfits Boxing Prime Card Predictions and Picks

Misfits and DAZN are set to put on the biggest influencer boxing card of all time on October 14th, live from the Manchester Arena. Featuring plenty of well-known names from the line world, the card is set to be a massive night for crossover boxing and will, without a doubt cross over into the mainstream.

We make predictions as to how some of the fights will play out and give a hint as to who may have their hand raised on the night. You can check out our whole card preview here.

We also broke down the two headline fights on a bonus podcast this week. The entire show can be found here:

MF & DAZN: X Series 10 – The Prime Card

KSI vs. Tommy Fury

The showcase fight of the night is between KSI and Tommy Fury. KSI, as we know has an alternative, un-traditional boxing style and favours a far more karate style to get in and out and land on his opponents. His in-and-out movement has confused every opponent he’s faced thus far, scoring three knockouts and catching Joe Fournier, albeit with an elbow leading to a no-contest.

Fury, as the name may suggest is a far more traditional boxer. He utilises a jab, isn’t afraid to hold when necessary and can put combinations together. As we saw against Jake Paul, Fury was able to navigate his way through all eight rounds.

If this one goes the distance, it’s Fury’s fight to lose. He’s the far better boxer and can use his superior skills to keep KSI off his game. With that being said, if the YouTube star can find his range early, we know Fury can be hurt. He’s been dropped by Paul in their last fight and KSI’s in-and-out movement may confuse the ‘boxer’.

JJ’s style relies on him being extremely fit as it’s high movement and requires a high cardio output. Ultimately, Fury should be able to out-jab KSI and cruise to a victory. He also holds the power to knock KSI out, he has a massive size advantage over the YouTuber, which could be an issue for ‘The Nightmare’.

Pick – Fury via Unanimous Decision

Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis

The co-headliner features Logan Paul and Dillon Danis. Paul’s boxing style hasn’t evolved since his original fight with KSI back in 2018. He’s a huge, heavily muscled guy, who wildly swings from the hips and hopes that one of his hooks will land. We don’t know an awful lot about Paul’s boxing ability because his last ‘fight’ against Floyd Mayweather, he just looked to overwhelm the 50-0 former professional with his size.

As for Danis’ boxing skills, we’re also unaware of his ability. The Misfits Prime Card will mark the first time that Danis will compete under boxing rules. As we know, he’s an elite grappler and undefeated in MMA with a record of 2-0. He’s the physically smaller guy, however, won’t allow the moment to get to him as he legitimately believes that he’s a megastar.

Realistically, Danis’ strategy will be to get his head on Paul’s chest, utilise his knowledge of grappling and manipulating the movements of his opponent and fight like a Mexican. He’ll rip to the body, look to fatigued the heavily muscled Paul and be relentless in his pursuit of victory. Paul, on the other hand, will look to keep the distance and use his athleticism and power to get the better of his opponent. If he can keep his cool (after Danis’ mind games pre-fight), he should be able to get the better of Danis. His size will play a factor and he could finish Danis.

Pick – Paul via 4th round TKO

Remainder of the Main Card

Salt Papi vs. Slim Albaher

On paper, this should be Slim’s fight to lose. He’s the slicker striker, is taller, has a bigger reach and should be able to avoid the heavy hands of Papi. He likely doesn’t have the power to finish the Philippino born ‘Papi’, but across just five rounds he should be able to get the decision victory.

Pick – Slim via Unanimous Decision

Deen the Great vs. Walid Sharks 2

This one should be straightforward to predict. Sharks was winning the bout between these two previously before he wasn’t. Having dropped Deen the Great twice, he was caught and finished.

Sharks, the former Iraqi Golden Gloves champion will be far more switched on in this one. He knows the dangers now so will potentially box more cautiously.

Pick – Sharks via Unanimous Decision

King Kenny vs. Anthony Taylor

This match-up is certainly intriguing. A lot of the outcome of this fight depends on what type of fighter we get on the night. King Kenny, in his last performance, looked elite and looked as though he could mix up his styles and sting his opponent when necessary.

Anthony Taylor can kill a fight with ease, as he did against Salt Papi. Hopefully, he’ll come to fight and we can get a solid, competitive bout. If so, King Kenny should reign supreme.

Pick – King Kenny via Unanimous Decision

Whindersson Nunes vs. My Mate Nate

Whindersson Nunes appeared to be a potential megastar, however, having put in a very flat performance last time out against King Kenny, that spark went out.

My Mate Nate hasn’t showed UK crowds what he’s all about and therefore, we don’t know if he’s good or not. He appeared very easy to be hit against King Kenny when they fought and against Nunes, who has power, that isn’t a good sign.

Pick – Whindersson Nunes via Round 1 TKO

Wassabi Lmao vs. Los Pineda Coladas

Who knows…?

Pick – Los Pindea Coladas (because of the inventive name)

Preliminary Card

Chase DeMoore vs. Tempo Arts

Tempo Arts actually looked reasonably good in his Misfits debut on the Jay Swingler vs NichLmao undercard. On that occassion, he knocked out Godson in the first round.

Chase DeMoore looked good against Stevie Knight in his last (singles) boxing match. He was dominating before he hit a downed opponent. He’s far more athletic and with a ten inch reach advantage, should be able to keep Tempo Arts at arms length for long enough for him to get frustrated before catching him.

Pick – Chase DeMoore via Round 3 TKO

S-X vs. DTG

DTG didn’t look good against Halal Ham last time out. He looked lethargic throughout and it’s not totally clear why he’s been given a chance on such a big card.

Similarly, we know nothing of S-X as he’s making his debut on this card.

Pick – S-X via Decision

Astrid Wett vs. Alexia Grace

This one is certainly a fight with a back story. The women were set to fight earlier this year but as Grace threw Wett through a table on fight night, the fight didn’t go ahead.

Grace is making her boxing debut so we don’t know anything about her. From her training footage, she appears to have a decent level of skill.

Wett is 2-0 but has looked massively amateurish in her two fights thusfar. She throws arm punches, wings in shots and is surprised when she lands.

She can handle the spotlight and we’re unsure if Grace can, which will play a big part in this one.

Pick – Grace via Unanimous Decision

Swarmz vs. Ryan Taylor 2

In another rematch, Swarmz and Ryan Taylor meet. In their first one, Swarmz was able to hurt Taylor’s eye enough to force him to withdraw from the fight.

This time around, Swarmz will likely have enough to defeat Taylor again. In the three fights that Taylor’s had, he’s not shown anything for Swarmz to worry about.

With that being said, Swarmz put in an extremely lacklustre performance against Deji last time out and also didn’t look great in his Tag Team match in July.

Pick – Swarmz via Split Decision
