Atlas 34 Holiday Fight Night Bout Previews

TWebb MMA Making an Appearance

TWebb MMA, led by Bayou Fighting Championship lightweight champion, Thomas Webb, will have two of his fighters displaying their skills on the card. 18-year-old standout prodigy, Nakia Brown, will take on Brandon Billingsley while the very tough Donald Wilkinson of TWebb MMA will battle Cody Fountain. Brown had an amazing showing in his debut at BFC: Capitol City Fight Night in October 2018, earning the second round TKO.

Nakia Brown

Brown is a former Louisiana state runner-up in wrestling, earning 59 victories his senior year, which was this year! He has only been training MMA for eight months but has amazing potential with all-state wrestling credentials to back it up. Brown stated his goal is to remain undefeated as long as he’s in the amateur ranks, and looks to keep that going Saturday.

Brown does not look at traveling away from home as a disadvantage heading into his second bout. “Traveling is awesome. I would like to travel more to help me get my name out there,” Brown told MMA Sucka. “Wrestling has helped me stay focused about the traveling and traveling helps you get more recognition.”

Donald Wilkinson

Wilkinson lost to a more experienced fighter heading into his debut just last month at WFC 97 on November 10, 2018. Wilkinson is another extremely young fighter who has a good mind for the sport and will develop the more he’s in the cage. Look for Wilkinson to learn from his previous bout and continue to grow.

Wilkinson is no doubt on a mission to redeem his loss and continue to help put TWebb MMA on the map. “This being my second fight, I have more to prove to everyone. Yes, it helps the first is out of the way but I also lost that fight and I have to show everyone that I am better than what they saw,” Wilkinson told MMA Sucka. “Fighting in Mississippi is no different than fighting close to home. To me, it’s still a fight and my team has to do what we are set out to do.”

Main Event Female Showdown

The main event of the evening will feature Jenny “Savage” Clausius as she takes on hometown fighter, Miki Rogers. After a rough start to her professional career, Rogers has looked very impressive in her last two outings both being first-round submission victories. Rogers has faced very stiff competition with her last two losses coming to UFC fighter Gillian Robertson at Atlas Fights 29 and to Invicta FC fighter Tiffany Masters at KOTC: Bloody War.

Clausius will be making her second walk into the cage as a professional, losing her debut at V3 Fights 69 in June 2018. She is far from a newcomer with 13 fights spanning four years as an amateur. Many of her victories, as with Rogers, have come by way of submission. Look for two strong-willed fighters try to implement their own gameplan.

A Second Female Fight on the Card (Heavyweight)

It is not very common to find TWO women’s MMA bouts on one card. Atlas and Gulf Coast MMA have done just that with this heavyweight battle between Bailey Ray Jackson and Justice Galloway. Jackson, of Alan Belcher MMA Club, will look to end her first year on a high note. Winning her debut at Gulf Coast MMA: Brawlroom Beatdown in May 2018 by first-round TKO, Jackson will look for the same outcome against her 2-1 foe, Galloway.

Bailey Ray Jackson

As with many fighters, having your debut out of the way can be a sigh of relief. “It does make it a lot easier dealing with the mental. Especially because all I ever did was go to fights and train in the gym,” Jackson told MMA Sucka. “I knew kind of how it would be, but not the full picture. And I’m sure it’s terrifying everyone’s first fight. You have crazy nerves the week leading to the fight and your mood changes a lot. But once I got warmed up and ready in the back, I was just ready for anything and everything. Since I’ve done it before, I’m more mentally prepared this time.”

Coming from such an esteemed camp as Alan Belcher MMA Club, you are bound to have some of the best training and training partners in the world. “I also have my big brother Tyler Hill in my corner and he is literally my backbone when it comes to fighting. He always tells me when I’m wrong and what I need to focus on.” Hill is an 8-2 professional himself recently competing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contenders Series.

Rise of WMMA

As mentioned earlier, WMMA has gained in popularity over the years, obviously with the push of such superstars like Ronda Rousey. “I’m SUPER proud of how WMMA is getting more recognition and people are seeing that girls are badass! I’m also proud to be on the card with my teammate Miki Rogers. Together we are Team BIGGIE-smalls.”

Flyweight Amateur Title Bout

The potential fight of the night will showcase two of the brightest flyweights in the southern region. “The Flash” Josh Langley of Team Jucao South out of Walker, Louisiana will do battle for the crown against fellow undefeated fighter Terrence Jones of Opelika, Alabama. Between the two fighters, they share a 5-0 record with four first-round stoppages. Look for this battle to not need the judges.

Langley, the 17-year-old surging prospect is more than ready to put on a show for the fans in Biloxi. “I’m feeling stronger than ever,” Langley stated to MMA Sucka. “This has been my best camp so far.” This fight of the night candidate will be a showcase at the highest level regardless of if the battle stays on the feet or goes to the ground. “My fans can expect to see an amazing fight between two amazing athletes. Hoping to have a good mix of stand up but if it goes to the ground that’s where my nine years of Gracie United Jiu-Jitsu will be showcased.”

Something Else to Watch

Another young up and coming hometown fighter competing on the card is Darius Scott. He is set to take on Gulfport’s Joe Eubanks in a “Gulf Coast Rival Fight.” Scott thinks after debuting earlier in the fall that he’s now a bit more prepared. “After my debut I’d say that I now understand the process to even getting to fight such as cutting water weight. Also being in there for the first time, I now know that it’s way different than the sparring we do in the gym to where you have almost no time to even think about your next move because it happens so fast,” Scott told MMA Sucka. Scott is out to put on a show for the home crowd. “I believe that the fans are going to expect a brawl. It’s definitely going to be a fight of the night contender!”
