Polish Lightweights Set for KSW 59 Clash

KSW is putting the pieces together for their March card with KSW 59 scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 20, 2021. The main event and co-main event of KSW 59 have already been established. World’s Strongest Man and Polish veteran Mariusz Pudzianowski will battle one of Senegal’s all-time greatest wrestlers in Serigne Ousmane Dia. The co-main event will feature bantamweight champion Antun Racic defending his crown against Sebastian Przybysz. Most recently, KSW has announced a clash of Polish lightweights with the veteran Lukasz Rajewski battling the undefeated Mateusz Legierski.

KSW Veteran Lukasz Rajewski

Lukasz Rajewski (10-6) has been apart of KSW, on and off, since May 2014. His organizational debut came at KSW 27, where he was defeated by a unanimous decision. Fighting all across Europe, Rajewski returned to KSW for the KSW 38 event, which took place in April 2017. Rajewski was able to secure his first KSW victory over Sebastian Romanowski by a unanimous decision. He would return for KSW 41, taking place in December 2017, but lost to future-KSW featherweight champion Salahdine Parnasse. KSW 44 saw Rajewski get back into the win column in a big way, earning a first-round knockout. Fighting across Europe some more, Rajewski would return to KSW for KSW 54, where he would win via split decision.

Throughout his professional career, seven of his career 10 wins have come by the finish with five of those KO/TKOs. Do not let his record fool you either. The losses he has sustained on his record are to many of Europe’s best fighters such as Parnasse and multi-organizational champion Daniel Rutkowski.

Undefeated Young Star Meteusz Legierski

Meteusz Legierski (7-0) made a solid showing in his KSW debut at KSW 56 in November 2020, winning by a majority decision. Prior to his time in KSW, Legierski served as the Oktagon MMA lightweight champion. Five of Legierski’s career seven victories have come by a finish with four of those KO/TKOs. Only 24 years old, Legierski is early in his career to make a push at the KSW lightweight championship. Defeating a veteran of KSW like Rajewski will only help Legierski’s resume. Training out of Octagon Team Cieszyn, Legierski has all the building blocks around him to become a future champion.

To go along with Legierski’s MMA knockouts, he also competed in professional kickboxing. scoring a knockout in 18 seconds in June 2018. This bout looks to be another fight of the night-potential showcase for KSW 59. There are huge implications on the future for these two lightweights.
